Description: This is a cape tech tutorial hack. Topics covered are from totally basic to barely RTA viable.

Learning to Fly has been in my filebin since 2020, but I feel that the time is right to make this available as a full release.

This has an open overworld. Play exactly what you want, learn from straightforward tutorials, and then play cape hacks from your favorite creators.

What you can expect from this hack:
+53 tutorial levels with message boxes explaining cape tech
+9 test levels to challenge your consistency
+2 kaizo cape levels
+8 practice rooms. This feature is often overlooked.
+The message boxes aren't always enough to fully understand how to execute the tech. Clear videos are available HERE.

What you should not expect from this hack:
+For cape to be easy, or to learn every tech without practice
+A substitute for playing your favorite cape hacks
+For every tutorial to be totally foolproof from extreme or clever cheese. They're just a learning resource to take or leave.

Happy caping!

There's no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, a state of bliss

Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted
Just an earthbound misfit, I

This is a must play hack for learning cape mechanics. I really enjoyed playing it and came away with a new appreciation for cape levels. Nothing too brutal and the message boxes for each level are very useful.

Cool hack! I considered myself fairly experienced before playing this, but I still learned a lot. One slight critique is it would've been nice to have ASM that helps you understand certain spots, like Kaizo Kindergarten or Midair Risers give the option to see extra data from the RAM. It can be hard for example in some Yoshi fly sections or the repeated air catch level to determine what you're doing wrong. Overall though, a great resource.

I have about a year's worth of Kaizo Mario experience under my belt now, and was still terrified of cape mechanics before finishing this hack #smw{O_O}

Learning To Fly does an outstanding job in teaching the player "how 2 cape" without being too brutal in any of the sections really, or overbearing in expectations, to the point where I love cape mechanics now and am prepared for any (or at least most!) cape sections in other kaizo hacks

Thank you NP, DJL, and everyone else who contributed for making such a great learning resource, matching the other great learning resources like Learn 2 Kaizo, 2Kaizo2Learn, Panga's Kaizo Kindergarten, and Lurn 2 Shell; had a blast with this one and came out a better Kaizo player too #smw{:peace:}

I would be clueless about Yoshi flight tech if it wasn't for this hack, but now I feel almost as comfortable with it as I am with normal flying. Thank you!

Extremely useful resource. This is THE hack to learn how to get a hold of cape tech, as well as master it. I strongly recommend this hack. If you are a kaizo player and haven't downloaded this, download it, you won't regret it later on.

This Hack is frickin awesome for learning cape stuff and practising it in a safe environment. Cant recommand this hack enough as a tool to look up certain techs or just to get better at cape.

The knowledge this hack spreads is invaluable. Thanks for making it NP and DJL

Like Nexus' Learn 2 Kaizo and Panga's Kaizo Kindergarten, this is one of the most important tutorial hacks ever made.

Cape is a very intricate mechanic, and this hack teaches you with its intracacies. I love the rooms where you can build stuff like cape pumping, and flying in a contained space. There are also many miscallenous mechanics from vanilla speedruns and other unusual, but flash tricks.

Awesome job, Newpointless and DJLocks!

This is what made me a cape lover. If that's a good or a bad thing, you decide, reader.

This is too cool. I didn't know all of this tech existed with capes.
I hope this influences future hacks! Great job!

This is an extremely valuable resource that I've played a lot over the last few years. Glad to see an official release. Amazing work NewPointless and DJLocks. Cape tech is hard and this is the best way to get more experience.

Definitely a must-have in the arsenal of any kaizo player. This isn't a 'play it until you beat it' kind of hack. Treat this as a practice resource and play it over and over again until it feels natural.

With resources like this, there's no reason to be cape shy. I can't thank you enough.

Played this a lot before the 2.0 release and it was eye opening. Will absolutely be jumping back in it again!
