Description: The trilogy is finally complete.

Sonic returns with a singular goal: to create a generational kaizo masterpiece. Will he succeed? No, he won't. But perhaps he'll learn a thing or two along the way.

Have fun! And plz post your favorite level in the comments :)

That's as many exits as you could ever imagine

Gameplay consisted of an excellent pairing of custom mechanics with precise momentum platforming, and a well implemented difficulty curve as you progress. Not requiring all levels to be beaten for progression was a great addition as well to allow players to advance at their own pace and path.

Difficulty from confusion to clarity was also very satisfying to overcome, without much (if any) tedium for any level due to the single-section level pacing, which I personally loved; this pacing allowed levels to spread out, like the left-facing levels, which potentially could have been 1 big level but felt much better to me tackling as separate single-section levels instead. Most of this hack can be progressed by an Intermediate player, but expect the Expert difficulty more towards the end.

For my favorite level,
for sure "indulge me" was it, really proving that every level was great and fun to revisit over & over again; I would love to see a whole hack with this "Wario Ware" kind of style to go for chains & highscores. Runner-ups would be "poetry in motion" & "the left hand of darkness", where I learned to really enjoy the boo mechanic tied with the speed changes from grabbing and letting go of the throw block, & the cape + shell tricks respectively.

Overall, I've grown to really love this hack and is an easy 5/5 stars, and easy recommend! #smw{:peace:}

I very rarely comment but this hack has given me reason to, I can't remember the last time I played a kaizo hack where I enjoyed every single level. It's an even crazier feat here with the amount of exits this hack has. I had almost zero complaints while playing, and despite some questionable gimmicks at times I still had fun. Favourite level was probably malicious appliance, although pretty much all the precision stuff was right up my alley. None of this is even mentioning the crazy cool overworld exploration and secret exits. Incredible hack overall, amazing job.

Wonderfully creative, as one expects from Maddy. The level selection has a lot of variety, far more good than bad, but you will encounter a few annoying gimmicks along your journey. The in-level aesthetics are unfortunately terrible with screenshot #2 being representative. Perhaps this is done ironically, but in any case, I would prefer a nicer look.

The movement, by contrast, feels great in almost every level. The obstacles remain readable despite the cluttered aesthetics. Maddy often gives the player time to scout things out, but everything can be done fast in smooth flowing motion once you have strats for each setup. I never felt like anything was blind or unfair or even tight. I suspect that great care was taken in balancing this hack.

The main world brings the levels together nicely and pulls off the feat of making Masterpiece feel like a proper game rather than a compilation. The overworld is more than just a bridge between levels. The player must explore it thoughtfully to reach the endgame.

There is an extensive post-credits section of what could be called "DLC" or "sidequests," but instead is called "Chapter 2." I felt let down when I finished this section, because I thought it was building to a true ending. But you just beat a last throwaway level, get a funny message, and then you're done (unless I'm missing something, although my exit count makes it seem like there's no more). Personally, I found this unsatisfying.

Overall though, I had a lot of fun with Masterpiece. My favorite levels are anything with the Monster Energy powerup, the timer-based teleportation level, and Lungfish's level.

It really is a masterpiece. Favorite level so far has been sigma star, but pretty much every level has been absolutely fantastic. Outstanding work!
