Got interest in ASM, and finally I understood how to use this thing. It doesn't prompt, you need to run it via terminal/cmd:
Code
xkas code.asm rom.smc

Unfortunately, I used Xkas too late.
Fortunately, Asar exists.

Use Asar, not this one.

I have no idea why it still exists.

Same. It exists because some people think it's a good idea to code for it instead of asar. I agree, please use asar. Xkas is being abandoned for a reason.

Reason why, because people usually use Xkas and was hard to use with it. Use Asar instead.

to apply patches, type cmd.exe in the run program, then drag and drop xkas, then press space, then drag and drop the patch, then press space again, then drag and drop your rom, then press enter, and you are done! now you applied a patch with xkas

Also, you need to have the patch and source file in the same folder as xkas. Forgot to mention that. :/

For those who can't figure out how to use this, you need a copy of the command prompt .exe file (cmd.exe) in the SAME folder as xkas. You open cmd.exe, NOT xkas. In the command window, type "xkas (file name) (patch name)"...without quotes and parentheses, of course.

Hopefully, this will clear up any issues people are having. DOS is a lost art these days, it seems...

Xkas is a tool which doesn't ask for input, it instead must be used with a command line application like cmd.exe or through batch files.

Guys, it's supposed to be like that. I would suggest Asar instead.
