Well, it's not perfect. This was, all in all, a test hack. That does not mean it is bad, however... It's a fairly difficult hack, though I have toned it down since the demo. There's no ExGFX, no custom sprites, and no custom music. However, it DOES have good level design, and that's what really matters.
I know I can make good graphics, insert music, etc., but I wasn't sure of my level design abilities. Like I said, this was a test for me, to improve my skills where they needed improvement.
That being said... I know it's not the best hack out there, but give it a shot. You won't be disappointed, especially if you follow through to the end.
Note: There's a door at the top of the screen in Gemstone Ghosthouse that may block off some paths on the overworld. There's only one exit, found by taking the doors at the end.
Honestly one of my favorite hacks, pretty nostalgic for me since I've played it when I was pretty young, while a lot of the ideas and the style definitely feel like a product of its time, it's still really charming and the levels are super well made (just don't expect new conventions like a instant retry system, that type of stuff).
There are a lot of memorable setups and nice gimmicks for each level that tend to be used in different ways. If you want to try out a really old and hard hack and don't know where to start, this is a safe bet, it's a really fun one.
If anyone plays this, unless the creator of the hack says so, Star World are normals exits (I searched high and low, every spot and moon jumped to make sure it wasn't under the map or above) unless it's like Gravel Ridge 1 (there's a secret exit if you go past the checkpoint continue till you reach an area where there's a wall of solid/unsolid blocks, stand on the area with 4 blocks beween the 2 blocks, fall, and there's a secret area) The worst kind, Check the pits type secret, I found it by failing a jump there *edit : nvm the creator quit 3 years ago, so unless you find it (I just did this as a warning, gratz if you find it)
Para mim este hack deveria ser classificado como Very Hard... Mas possui uma boa curva de dificuldade... Mas você poderia acrescentar mais níveis Para tornar a hack mais longa... Contanto... Um bom hack.
