Updated 8/6/14. Fixed a hideous bug that killed the player on World 3-5. Also fixed some small inconveniences. Thanks to yoshicookiezeus for pointing out the errors.
Well, I wasn't planning on submitting this just yet, but since my hard drive crashed and I lost my files, I am not going to be updating this for a while. So I might as well give a little something back to the SMWC community for their support.
Here is a hack I've been working on since mid-2013 up to this point. It's not much, but it should keep you busy for an hour or two.
PLOT: The Mario Bros. were enjoying some cake with the Princess when all of a sudden an airship comes to wreck the castle and takes Peach. Could it be Bowser again? Or is it someone different, for once? Well, we certainly aren't going to find out just by sitting there, now will we?
This hack features:
I hope you like it and feel free to give feedback.
besides me getting 99 lives at world 3-4 (you throw them at the player too much but i mean its ok) and the feather being that stupid smb3 tail, i just love this hack its amazing!
the feature when you press select and instantly swap power-ups is so much fun i found myself jumping shooting fireballs in midair and swapping to my leaf just for fun. how is this feature called?
Was a lot of fun until world 3-5, the level is impossible to complete because of the auto section not working properly and killing the player. The star warp for having greater than 250 time doesn't work properly, either.
I've only got as far as the start of World 2, but I am really enjoying this hack. Some nice new features to keep the gameplay fresh (wall jumps / Yoshi fluttering like in SMW 2) and tweaks to make the older stuff enjoyable in a new way. The hanging when there are changes in the game (music changes, getting a star etc) are a bit offputting but I'm sure they can be fixed.
Annoyance 1 - Purposfully got rid of my super powers and went through all those pick-up-able blocks in a narrow tunnerl only to find the reward was just a 1-Up!
Annoyance 2 - Not being able to hold down the jump button to continouly fly, the button must be pressed repeatedly. When riding Yoshi this can conflict with his flutter jump and makes control difficult.
If this is what you are doing with the first 40 levels though, I can't wait to play a full game. Keep up the great work!
Oh, and I've followed the instructions at 6-1, but nothign happens. Is it a trick or is there something I'm missing...?
