It seems to start harder than it finishes and the castle felt anticlimatic. That said, there's plenty of raw action, entertaining jumps, and no gimmicks here. The enemy clutter early on leaves the level feeling slow, since you stop, backtrack and loop around boxes to get around some waves of enemies, and if you rush it you end up getting hurt. Levels after that felt a lot faster-moving. The level with the secret exit had a pretty tight P-switch race to obtain a boxed-in key to the rather fun beach level.
The hack is mostly vanilla, though the secret level does have an ExGFX background. Overworld design is pretty nice.
