Description: Here it is finally ... the first release of my first SNES hack, Super Mario World! All of World 1 is done, and some of the graphics and color palettes have been changed. The levels are quite a lot different from the original, so there's not much you can expect to find from the original.

It'd be more entertaining with less spam. 1/5.

It's a shame this site doesn't display the original release date. This is an oldie, initially released on December 18th 2000 according to archives of Acmlm's site. Definitely hasn't aged the best and not as interesting as Acmlm's NES hacks, but still very cool.

Yoshi's House has glitchy clouds and you get ambushed instantly (lol, welcome to Dinosaur Land, motherfucker.) Yoshi's Island 1 has numerous little issues like the very steep slope in the cave being on top of a wall so you can walk through it. Yellow Switch Palace has a lot of cutoff and the lines are overaliased and gross, but more importantly and annoyingly, tile 1EB isn't used under the wall triangle. Yoshi's Island 2 has sprite tile memory problems. In Yoshi's Island 3, glitched Thwimps and a Spiny are used, and the actual Buzzy Beetles have a bad palette. Baby Yoshi is also placed outside the shell and there's no No Yoshi entrance used, meaning Yoshi will glitch if you reenter the level with him. Yoshi's Island 4 has more glitched sprites. Iggy's Castle has spikes you can barely see because they're the same color as the background. There's some weird shit, such as more cutoff and a Piranha Plant that harmlessly jumps into the ceiling where it can never do anything to you.

If that list of flaws hasn't deterred you, this hack has some pretty damn dreamy palettes in some levels. Graphical modifications are light: they mostly just add more color and make the text neater, so it's very close to being pure vanilla. The hack's difficulty is a very weird type of "Normal" where you'll have clusterfucks of Koopas or Fuzzies raining on you one moment and line rides and net climbing the next. It has that "my first hack" charm to it where it kind of sucks but you don't know why you're enjoying it.
