Mario Wakes Up... Expanded!

Short 1 level Halloween hack. I love holiday hacks and this is a good one to add to a Halloween marathon. Secret exit is very well hidden, one of the very few hacks where I've had to look up where to find it. Some mild jank. Echoing Counterfeit below, the door that spawns after beating Big Boo can be in impossible to reach places. On one playthrough, it spawned midway up the center waterfall and wasn't possible to get to. Atmosphere is cool enough to offset the jank for the most part.

Cute Halloween level for the time; I can see how it did well in the 2008 Ghost House contest. There's some fun fake-outs, but otherwise it's pretty straightforward and linear. I found the item swapping room pretty annoying, and the secret exit could've been dropped entirely, but there's no other major issues for me. I'm sure plenty of other hacks/levels have gone way past this, but for 2008 it's done pretty well.

I played it on an SNES emulator from ps2 and I liked it! My 5 stars!

Intro contains some flickering along the top of the screen and the message box is blank. It's also possible to get stuck after beating the boss if the door spawns in an area that can't be reached via jumping, falling, or swimming, i.e. right below the spikes.
