Description: | This is the final version of Pokémon Darkness. Note: The hack is in french because my English is very limited, but there is a translation of places and Pokemon in the enclosed "read me". So, it's french language but the storyline isn't difficult to understand ^^ Now, you have to find 50 exits and a bonus world ^^ If you have any problem with french language, you don't understand anything, you can send me just a PM or send me an email at [email protected] Enjoy to play my hack, I have worked hard on it :) ---------------------------------- 9/9/10: There is now a partial English translation included in this hack's download. Enjoy the newly added English translation! fixme: music breaks on accurate emulators. |

Although, there is one factor that isn't this great, which is the design. The player gets amazed by the aesthetics and by the different gimmicks, but if you analyze most of the levels, they are plain, flat and with mostly ground enemies. I disliked the space autoscroll levels where you can fly, they had just nothing going on except enemies and obstacles to avoid. I feel like the author paid attention more on the rest; it would've been great if the design was as good as the rest.
On the other hand, aesthetics are awesome. You can really feel the different atmosphere going in the hack. As I said already, every SMW element has been edited, and it really feels like a separate game. Beautiful. If I wanted to be nipticky, there are some minor clashes, but who cares at this point.
Some issues:
- Music breaks on accurate emulators.
- Some levels have too many sprites, and this causes some essential platform sprites not appearing. This happened more than once, it's a bit annoying.
Overall, a great hack. Voted 4/5. If the design was better, probably I'd have voted 5/5, but it's close to it anyways.
