Hello everyone, I'm Theo Vellum, and I'm not much of a hacker, though I do love giving my opinions. So I may be doing quite a bit of reviewing. I do plan on trying to do some vanilla hacks though.

I hope we can all get along together. See you all soon!

Vanilla Hacking is a very good way to start off on your hacking career into SMW. Just a couple tips I'd like to give you to get you started:

1) Do not announce a hacking project just yet until you are familiar with how Lunar Magic works, and have enough experience with it to create fully functioning levels looking proper. Showing off screenshots filled with cutoff is only going to get you postcount++ replies from other users telling you to do the above. This doesn't apply if you're showing off a pallete you think looks really good.

2) Actual advice this time: Lunar Magic is an incredibly powerful tool... not as in it requires a strong processor. It is very user friendly, but at first it will look overwhelming. All that stuff that looks complicated, like SuperExGFX and related, you really shouldn't need to mess with that much if you're just beginning. Your best friends will be the Sprite Toggle, Layer 1 toggle, Add Objects Window, and Add Sprites Window. Experience with all that other stuff will come as you experiment.

3) Don't get too ambitious at first. Lots of projects end up getting cancelled because the users behind them, mostly new comers, think they can make this awesome hack and end up dropping the project because it is too much to handle for their... level. (There is no easy way of saying that) Start small, short and sweet. Remember to have fun too.

4) Make what you want. Take advice from those who are experienced, unless it is bullshit advice like the advice I'm giving you now.. Remember you can't please everybody. Also, if you do start a good looking project, don't stop simply because you aren't getting as much feedback as you wanted.

Hope this can help you out in the long run!
Hi everyone, i'm new in here, i'm very interesed in SMW hacking and SM64 hacking, i have too many ideas in my mind so i've decided to register in there, where i can share some of my ideas.

Sorry for my bad English.
I am really surprised nobody took that name yet. Welcome Quote to SMW Central. Discussion about SMW hacking ideas is perfect for this forum (look for specific threads first) while I suppose this forum would be good for SM64 hacking.

Your English is readable and good enough for me so I would not consider it that "bad". Enjoy your stay. #tb{:)}
HEY,LISTEN

I don't know if I've been gone long enough to constitute being new, but I'm sure there's a bunch of new members and I've forgotten most knowledge of hacking and a lot has changed...

I'm hoping to start a new hack with all the updated tools and amazing programs that have been released, and maybe this time finish it! Don't quote me on the finishing part though.

So yeah. Hi everyone! ヾ(*´∀`*)ノ

Hello and welcome back, oldbee. I'm probably one of said new members.

I hope to see cool things from you, mate.

EDIT: Nope, I was here when you during your departure.
My layout has removed you.
Sparx! :D I sorta kinda still remember you.

Welcome back! You'll be delighted to see what's improved on the tool and patch front. Hope you'll stick around.

After all these years... it is quite interesting to see the old ones return.

Welcome back Sparx!

I remember seeing you when I stalked old threads. Greetings, welcome back, generic words etc.
Hey guys! I'm new here! This forum looks very cool. I'd love to hang out and maybe start SMW hacking.
Welcome MPG! Please enjoy your stay here in SMW Central.
#tb{^V^} Thank you! I'd love to enjoy my stay!
Might as well register there too, so hi.
Hello, KDeee. Are you a fellow Linux user?
Hi. I'm LifeMushroom/Mario64. I'm from RVLution, and I'm a NSMBW hacker (used to be) but now I usually do forum moderation, VPS stuff, and more. I'm hoping to get back to NSMBW too, though.
Hey LifeMushroom, welcome to SMWC! Going to give SMW hacking a try finally? ;)
Steam: controversialbread
Hey there. I am maor322 from rvlution and i do NSMBW hacking. Now, i am doing a oral for February so i will be inactive :(

where do i get started?
I'm not really part of the migration, I've been here for a while and my old introduction thread is gone so I mind as well reintroduce myself since stuff have changed over time.

Hi, I'm MrRean. I'm an expert at hacking Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 and I currently work for the Super Mario Galaxy 2.5 1-World Hack Demo. I also can code in C# and C++.

I guess that's it.
Greetings! 'tis I, Hata no Kokoro and I demand a duel forthwith!

OK, scratch that. You may know me as Python or Ol' Brofist or mralpha from other forums. I am not very familiar with SMW hacking and I don't plan on learning it, but I am a semi-experienced NSMBW hacker, average SM64 hacker and an average Danmakufu ph3 scripter. Favorite video game series of mine would be Mario, Touhou and Zelda.

Perhaps it should also be worth mentioning, that I have published two good, but a bit glitchy NSMBW hacks over at RVLution titled 'RVLution Wii' and 'Newer Apocalypse' both of which use NewerSMBW as a base and both of which have weird plots.

My current project is titled 東方仮想貪欲 ~ Messageboard Takeover, or romanized, Touhou Kasodonyoku ~ Messageboard Takeover with 東方仮想貪欲 translating to Eastern Virtual Greed, if I am not mistaken. It is a Danmakufu ph3 game centered around RVLution and the so-called 'Nolan North Incident' there.

Now that that is outta the way, I hope you will enjoy my company, even if I am not going to be very active.

Welcome to SMWC, Hata no Kokoro! Glad to see more people from RVLution are finding their way here.
I hope to see some of your hacks soon.
Hi everyone!

I'm Grop and I'm a NSMBW hacker for ~3 years now, and I figured I'd help you setting up the NSMBW hacking section here.

I love figuring out the purpose of unknown things, and therefore I helped with the spritedata for NSMBW and NSMB2. I know about everything related to NSMBW, so if you have a question, don't hesitate to ask me.

There's some more info about me, but I want to have some info left for my bio.

I can't wait to see all the creative things you come up with (regarding NSMBW and other games).

Have a nice day.
