Making a tetris themed level; heh.

They both look really good. I like the little pillars in both of them. The airships on the cloud map look darn neat too.

Is it a simple vertical autoscroller or are the blocks actually falling down separately? I really like the graphics btw

I have these 2 palettes for a snow level, but I'm not sure which one to use. What do you guys think?

I personally like the second one more, as the usual color people choose is reddish dirt, but I like grayer tones as a difference to the norm.
I'm not quite ready to make a thread for this hack, I feel like that puts more pressure on you as a creator, but I decided to show off some screenshots. Features some custom ExGFX in the tilesets, too.

Used some of VLDC9's art as reference material when making some of these overworld tiles, so full credit to whoever did those.
I've become very grumpy these last few years, and have been biting my tongue here in SMWC's forums quite a bit. I just want to let you all know that if ever I come off as harsh, I still care about you all. You guys are great.

Hey, those are pretty neat stuff right here. The beach level looks pretty good as well, too.

Also I've decided to spike up the first level of my upcoming hack. Seen here.
Sublevel of the first level.
@MelodicCodes Colors in the first screen are soft and lovely, but less so in the second. Put a little bit of work into it and sure it'll turn out well, considering the unique contrast red and blue creates.

It's very basic, but it seems like a nice normal level with rex setups, little problem with the hills tho :

I like the underground portion, I think the ground could use a more vibrant green though.

____________

I've been working on this for a bit :

- The Cheese blocks work like this :
* You can always break them with a spinjump
* You can shatter them from below
* Some sprites will shatter them (actually, all sprites will shatter them unless specified in a whitelist)

- Those fast bullets interact with objects and destroy the cheese blocks, if they hit anything else, they despawn (It looks weird otherwise as they "skip" one tile upwards, and it helps with potential sprite limits)

- The Bowling ball will destroy 3 vertical rows of cheese blocks (it has a custom clipping value for objects, at least when it falls for now.)

Also yes this is probably World 2
@Spy I really like the look of that. The cheese blocks seem a tiny bit out of place for such a dark level, but otherwise I have yet to see a nitpick with the level. Good going. #w{=)}
I don't know if i ever post them here, but here you go:

A snow level I made for a contest

A forest level I'm working on

Another forest level I'm working on

I'm currently porting everything to SA-1, so that's why I haven't finished the last two levels.

@Spy: Lovely, I like the atmosphere. And you're using my midway flag, nice
MelodicCodes:

The background gradient is so pretty. I like the pastel/soft colours you used in the level.

Spy:

The level layout and geometry is really impressive. It feels like there is a lot going on but it's presented in a way that the player can react and learn about the levels gimmicks.

LX5:

Really liking the small ASM/Custom stuff found in your levels. The tree climbing Lakitu is a nice enemy and I can see a lot of potential for creative set ups with it.

Nice work everyone ^.^

There's no dedicated 16*16 player patch like the 32*32 one, so I made my own using a couple tools and patches.

They all look pretty awesome. I really like the Autumn Forest Background, but I think I've told you that already when you showed it off on the Discord Server.

I think there is one flying around for a very long time now. The Player Graphics do look very nice though.

----------------------------

I also got a little something to show off for y'all

It's mainly an aesthetical setup by now but that is how one of the castles in my hack will look like.
Please note that the animation is quicker and smoother ingame. It only looks weird in the GIF because of the program I used.

@Tob Ohhhh, that looks very impressive. What will the hack be called if you know the name already?
@Tob You have a very nice choice of tiles and they blend very well with SMW graphics.
You also have a very special gimmick you can play with, with the gears moving and all
Here's to hoping the level design is as interesting as the atmosphere!

---------

Here's a thing I did while bored :

A desert background i made messing with vanilla graphics and map16.
No custom graphics were inserted.

@ViralTyphlosion Wow, that's REALLY impressive. This gives me a little motivation to do something like that as well.
@Tob Looks good... IDK what to say, really. Keep up good work!
@Spy I really like map. Palette fit well with swamp atmosphere, and GFX looks good (I'm bad at proper feedback, I know.)

I think this is the shortest level I ever made. Bouncing Extravaganza

animate all the things. all of it
I like the wrecked ship that's floating in the sky for no reason.

Really though, the island looks great, with the way it's semi-made out of carrot platforms.
