Shree's Music [Taking a few chiptune requests]

Decided to do something for C3 once what is wrong with me

As some of you may know, I compose music, ranging from chiptunes to orchestral. (Well, sort of.)

For those of you who don't know, I compose music, ranging from chiptunes to orchestral.

Here's some stuff I've composed till date. I'm a (very) lazy composer, so don't be surprised if you see or hear a lot of work to be WIP.

Factorized

One of my first ever compositions, I made this out of, mostly, boredom while I was in high school. I tried to go for a classic Megaman feel, what with all the "wavey" squares and rhythm.

New Beginnings (You might need to crank up the volume a tiny bit, apologies.)

I composed this keeping in mind the phrase "Starting something new". It took me quite a few days to get the chords right so they didn't interfere with each other, and I'm quite proud of the result. (I intended to use this song in an RPG I was making, which started in the morning. Hence the birds chirping and all.)

Goldwood Forest

I wanted this tune to feel like, well, "home". Of course, the guitar sounds anything but natural, but I had to use artificial ones in FL Studio, not a real recording. (Believe me, I would have given anything for a real recording of this.) Either way, I'm very fond of how this one turned out, since a few people I showed indeed did say it sounded like "home".

Rosemary Rag (WIP)

No, I'm not a Scott Joplin fan. Why do you ask? I've been incredibly fond of ragtime music for a long time now, although composing it seemed to be one of the hardest things to do. I managed to come up with this and I really like the melody. (And yes, I added a tiny bit of white noise and a radio filter over the song, just to make it sound like an old recording.)

Forest of Hope

Close your eyes and imagine this: A forest, with a canopy so dense that it blocks nearly all sunlight, making the insides of the forest VERY dark. The only way to navigate this forest is with the help of magic lamps and fireflies scattered across the mazelike paths that go through it. This is what I kept in mind while making this, and its one of my latest compositions. VERY proud of this one, since I played it on my real keyboard (the chord part, atleast) before recreating it on the computer.

Dem Blocks

I... I have no idea what this is, really. The project notes in FL Studio say "tetris theme xd" and it looks like the project was started at 3:38 AM in the morning. So... uh... there you go?

So that's about it for now, I'll probably upload more stuff if this thread gets any attention. Of course, I'm not the best composer there is, and I've a lot to learn, but I'm pretty proud of what I've done so far.

On a side note, check out my footer, you won't regret it.

EDIT: For those of you having problems downloading the files, try copying the Link Address and replacing the "dl." part in the link with "www.".

EDIT 2: I'm now taking a few requests for chiptunes. Please keep them simple and straightforward, and try to give me a bit of time.
The forest ones are 👌, very pretty and homey. tbh these all accomplish a lot even with few instruments being used!
I´ve listened to your WIPs you´ve uploaded on Discord and I really liked them. Your compositions sound really promising.

Only issue i have is, that my stupid virus scan, doesn´t want me to download your MP3s from dropbox :<

Would you mind, inserting them in a ZIP-Folder and upload them to your filebin, so i can listen to your current compositions, too? Would be really neat :>

No worries, here you go.

Thank you very much Shree. It´s indeed quite impressive how you can create all these atmospheres by only using a few intruments. My personal favourites are "Forest of Hope" and "New Beginnings". I really like how calm, yet beautiful these are #w{<3}

This thread really deserves more attention.

Italian Waters

Oh.. Oh god. I'm terribly sorry for the weird transitions and stuff, I had no idea what I was doing at that time. I got the idea of composing this after playing a bit of Dire Dire Docks in SM64 and wished it would have the original underwater music from SMB. Took me around 4 hours to make, and it still feels quite... lacking to me somehow.

I should remake this sometime, so it doesn't sound like utter garbage in the transitions :V
You're a bit of everything, aren't you? Stories, art, games, and now music.

Factorized - yep, definitely an 8bit factory. Would fit great in Tinker Knight's stage.

New Beginnings - sounds like someone waking up in a peaceful forest, not quite sure how she got there but she doesn't care, it's a nice forest. Takes a little long to start, but a great song once it does.

Goldwood Forest - guitar = instant cowboys, but it does indeed have a touch of homecoming as well. Cowboys usually ride off into the sunset, but apparently not this one.

Rosemary Rag - I'd place that in some kind of retro bar, probably a minigame. Not really my style, but a pretty neat song anyways.

Forest of Hope - feels like a lonely hut on a cliff by the sea, at sunrise. But also with a touch of homecoming... maybe the old fisherman prefers catching night-active fish? But on the other hand, it's too quiet for boats or any other movement... gonna say it's some kind of ending/credits theme. Probably attached to whatever starts with New Beginnings. Good job.

Dem Blocks - feels like ... being chased by something huge, but you can't run as fast as you'd want? Is this the autoscroller theme? Feels like a joke, but at the same time, I like it.

Italian Waters - slowing down the SMB water theme? Simple but effective, feels much more watery than the original.

I'm glad you're continuing with your music. Pretty much what Alcaro said, you sure love to be a versatile person! Keep it up ;3
