WALUIGI LIKES THIS! *throws hack in your face*

So far I'm really, really enjoying this hack! :D All the overworld events are garbage tiles, but I'm guessing that's just a simple mistake that's easily fixed. The wall jumps also feel a bit tough to go between two walls since you have to hold against the wall to be able to jump off, perhaps give the jump some extra horizontal speed to compensate for the fact that you'll naturally be holding against the direction of your jump?

Other than that, really nice hack!! :D Only up to level 3 so far, but I'm having fun~ Waa!

EDIT: Finished the hack! Waluigi offers you this soundfont to use in your hack, if you can find a good use for it! (Though you may need to edit some of the songs' pitches. Waluigi recommends using it for the Keyhole sound to make Keywaa!)

I just played this, and it's amazing. It's very nice-looking, with attention to detail, so keep going like this! I actually didn't find the wall-jumping unnatural at all, but yet again, it's probably because it works like that in a game I'm developing (which should've been completed months ago, but meh).

The overworld events are caused by the title screen recording ASM. I actually endured the mess created by RLM just to check that. All you need to do to fix it is go to File -> Title Screen -> Uninstall Title Moves Recording ASM in the Overworld Editor.

I'll give this a shot later.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to fix the mistakes tomorrow (here in Brazil is still July 7).

Playing the hack right now, and so far it's been pretty enjoyable. Definitely feels as difficult as it should it be in an early world and the level design is generally nice and well-made. I say generally because I'm not really a huge fan of how some levels really overuse 'one-way sections', where once you pass a certain part of the level, you can't go back. Makes collecting the star coins a little annoying if you missed one. Also not so big on how the first level uses images of the player and the button input needed to do a certain mechanic to try and teach that mechanic. It's better than message boxes doing the same, of course, but it still feels slightly lazy in a rom hack that otherwise feels really well made. I guess I can also mention that I don't enjoy the walljumping a lot, but that's really a personal nitpick of mine (it always feels weird to me in SMW). Regardless of all that negativity, I still really have enjoyed my time with this hack, and the little details you put in: the Waluigi head transition screen, the titlescreen using the same movement as the original game but designed around a new level, etc—it's all really neat, and shows you're putting a lot of effort into this. Hoping to see more of this in the future.
I just played this hack, and I thought it was pretty good overall. The first world started off pretty easy, but then I noticed the subtle progression in difficulty, but it didn't become too hard. The graphics choices and palettes are also pretty neat, and I even like how each level introduces a different set of enemies. I felt like they were used pretty well. I haven't really seen any hacks that feature Waluigi, so, if I'm not wrong, this might be able to become the first successful hack to feature him, and I know for sure that this hack has the potential. I can tell you put effort in this.

Unfortunately, there is one large flaw to this hack so far, and it relates to the usage of some custom stuff, such as the wall jump and blue rope. The problem here is that these weren't really used to their full potential. In fact, they weren't even used that much at all. There were times while I was playing this hack, and I forgot that the wall jump mechanic even existed. Basically, I want you to add more setups that actually make use of the wall jump, but I also want them to be more creative as well. Remember, just because there's custom stuff in the hack, that doesn't make it any better. It's how that stuff is used. Also, on a slightly related note, I wasn't really a fan of the straight fireballs, but that's just what I think.

Overall, I thought this hack was pretty nice, but I believe that some custom aspects weren't really used that well. I still can't wait to see more of this! Good luck!

I'm really happy that you guys had fun with the hack :D, I'll try to explore a little more the mechanics of wall jump and the rope (but avoid overusing too), and I'll try to avoid the one-way sections too.

I did a little update of the hack, some were based on the feedback (like removing some one-way sections), and others are just a few edits of some levels.

Amazing hack. I had lots of fun on it. Good job!
The levels are good in general, and I like how they encourage exploration for Yoshi Coins. Some part were empty, but that's fine for the first world, just be sure to use more enemies for the later levels.

A few things I noticed:

-If I start a new file and I'm holding X, I will be teleported to level 0.
-This only works when I'm running at full speed, and most of the time, you don't give enogh space to build momentum. This was especially annoying in the castle.
-This Star Coin is too dangerous for world 1.
-I know these blocks are very popular in vanilla levels, but for a chocolate hack, you're better off using cutom Mario-Only Blocks.
-This makes it looks like a secret room, and it might cause players to miss the midpoint. Place the midpoint before the door.
-You should probably enable vertical scrolling here.
Thanks for the feedback, fortunately, these problems are not difficult to solve (I just have not found the Mario-Only blocks), they will probably be solved in the next demo.

Well, it was a fun little run'n (wall)jump adventure. There are a few issues thought.

If I'll press X button in Welcome screen, it'll send me to the Bonus game.

How I supposed to know which coin I should touch first?

Donut blocks are weird... blocks. Jumping from it without making it fall makes tile 25 (or whatever tile) appear instead of, well, donut block.

Those issues aside, it's a good wadventure. Keep it up! #smw{:TUP:}
