The Sprite Remoderation Project

Should probably post this here as well for the people that don't check the tools thread:

I made a version of pixi that doesn't have per level sprites or the asar softlock coming with them
edit: Note that this is only a modified pixi.exe and main.asm

That's normal. The version I based this off of was actually my test version not the original pixi because I already had my test version set up.

It prints some (to most people unnecessary) information like what patch it's trying to apply etc. It still functions just like the original PIXI though so no need to worry about the extra messages.

imo for most people it's unnecessary, yes. But I can see some use cases for it for others so I think it's still a neat feature.
Though honestly, it should've been an option to enable/disable them to begin with.
Is it ok to use TheBiob's version of PIXI after already using Jack's version on a rom? I'm guessing it'd be ok but want to make sure first.

Should be fine. I did and I haven't noticed anything yet.
But if the original version works I don't see a reason to switch to mine. It doesn't do anything better other than not having the softlock which isn't a problem if the original works.
I understand that the Romi's sprites will be converted into PIXI, but...

I have something to say.
Why exist two thwomps sprites (two ASM and CFG files) for left and right?
Someone converted the two hotfoots into one.
Why don't merge these two thwomps into one, in extra bit set for the directions?
I found these thwomps in the PIXI folder.

I want to remind anyone who is remoderating the Romi's sprites:

1) SMB2 shyguys and snifits: extra bit clear and set for blue and red, but diferent ASM files for carryable, stompable and rideable.
2) Albatross and Albatross bomber: Merging into one for extra bit clear and set.
3) Classic and Giant koopa sprites: Merge classic red and green koopa into one, determining the extra bit for green and red koopa, the same thing for Giant Koopa sprites. The Blue classic koopa is useless.
4) Spiky ball: Extra bit clear and set if hurt mario, but not the sprites and hurt mario and sprites.

Merging sprites saves enough space for sprite slot.
MarioFanGamer told me that subroutines saves space.

The extra bit already had a purpose for the Classic Koopa sprites; it determined whether or not to prevent the Yoshi holding abilities from activating.

I mean, I guess this could simply be an editable define in the asm file, since I doubt anyone would want to use both in a single hack, but it is still important to mention.

There's an edit button for this purpose. It's next to the Quote button.

Anyway, kind of outdated number maybe, but rounded up, about 80% are remoderated.

You cannot see other peoples posts while in the window of editing your own posts.
Which is why just editing it would've prevented any sort of possible screw-up.

You can open a separate tab in your browser if you really want to see the other posts for a quote or something like that.
Still a better solution than deleting the post and writing a new one.

Anyway, fixed the file and the description, redownload and see if you still get errors using PIXI, sorry about that, that was my fault.
