Best video game death animations

Super Mario World-TvTropes describes it as nightmare fuel but I think he actually looks kinda cute like that
Commander Keen 4, 5, and 6-His death animation shows him bouncing from whatever hazard caused his death, and if his death sprite comes into contact with any other hazards, it will bounce off of that while repeating the first half of the death jingle until he passes the right edge of the screen. Sometimes it's fun to die in a long spike pit or room with lots of enemies and chain together a bunch of bounces in succession.

While they're not exactly DEATH animations, losing some of the Micro Games in the Wario Ware series can result in some very funny sounds and animations.

I'll post again if I can think of any more.

The classic crash series and its remastered versions have some pretty unique death animations all dependent on what kills you. Its a really nice touch.
I really loved the blow-up palette animation of bosses in Secret of Mana. Or really palette animations in old games in general. Kinda sad this is gone in the remake (only the explosions and the flash remain).
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
I really like the goofy death animations in Donkey Kong (GB), as well as its classic Hurry Up! song.

These.

Also, Mario Galaxy black holes and Smash Bros. star KO's.
Always liked the death animations from the DKC series for how goofy they are; it's literally just DK/Diddy/Dixie/Kiddy or whatever laying down on the ground and either rubbing their head because their head hurts (Diddy), scratching their head wondering what just happened (DK) and straight up crying/having a temper tantrum (Dixie/Kiddy); like, they don't die or anything (would be extremely unfitting anyway, except maybe for DK 64, I dunno), but they are still pretty effective death animations lol

What about the bosses exploding in old Kirby games like Kirby's Dream Land/Kirby's Adventure? And Kirby Super Star for the SNES,(not the crappy overrated DS version.)Now that had some pretty cool boss death animations! Sadly they just don't do explosions in Kirby games like they used to. Nothing they do even comes close. I just love explosions in Old Nintendo games in general.
I really liked some of the boss deaths in Kirby Planet Robobot though.
The deaths of Morton, Roy and Ludwig from Super Mario World where they implode or go Sub-Atomic or whatever is going on there were neat. Especially with that sound that it makes was pretty cool.
I also liked Boom-Boom's Death in Super Mario Bros. 3 where he explodes into a bunch of flashing stars and the background flashes an array of colors while a ball with a question mark pops up. That was also pretty cool!
