The title says it all. Do you prefer the (usually) more openly designed level with vertical scroll at will enabled, or the more packed levels with No Vertical scroll?
I have the tendency to build open levels with lots of secrets, so I use Vertical Scroll at will 90% of the time (even for closed caverns or castles: I just adjust the ceiling/floor), but I also see some benefits of working with No Vertical scroll; for example, I think it makes designing setups a lot easier (and that may be the reason I see it predomines in the majority of the hacks). What are your thoughts?
Vertical scroll at will, I always enable that, even tho' not to the extent like I did it back then.
If you're on Firefox 70+, and you don't see the blur effect, go to about:config and enable layout.css.backdrop-filter.enabled and gfx.webrender.all For the best aesthetics, use Chrome, or with some settings, Firefox.

I try to keep both vertical and non-vertical scrolling, but the vertical scrolling appears in many levels in my romhack a lot more than non-vertical scrolling.
I tend to disable it so I can keep better control of the player's experience. I have experimented having it enabled to make more open, exploration-esque levels.
It's funny how that one setting to me makes the level making completely different. It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
I always tend to enable vertical scroll except in very specific cases. I really don't have any preference honestly, as long as the level is actually fun.Windowless ride, feeling alive
