Hey there Mates and Femates, TEAM NIGHTMARE presents to you "Mushroom Kingdom: Beyond The Worlds!" A collaborative effort by me, Mellonpizza, EvilGuy0613, Scooter102089, and other guest designers who want to bring together a non-serious universe about a band of misfits fighting the forces of propaganda and plumbers. This series goes from KINGDOM WARS to OPENING A DANG CAFE, and everything in between! Hopefully each entry brings forward something new to the table, from the One-Shots to the full-on installments. If you're looking for a series to break your brain in trying to understanding the story...you might not want that, BUT it's for you anyway! DISCLAIMER: STORY IS LESS COMPLEX THAN FREDBEAR AND FRIENDS.

Now that Krack The Hack has been released, it is time to really jump gear with this franchise of ours! Any constructive criticism is always good.
Temporary post. Thinking of what to do here.
Daizo's Journey Progress Report:
So Daizo's Journey has Voice Acting and RNG + Level Specific Death Themes. Special thanks to Mathos for coding it!

Also might as well show off some more screenshots of Daizo's Journey just for the funzies.

Oooh, look! Special entrences! (Also, Revamped Daizo a bit)

Who's this hammer throwing dingus? I want that moon!

The Silo Progress Report:
It's... some kind of machine... but what is it for?

Krack The Hack Progress Report:

Long final levels these days require these.

Hey look, it's Mac and Zac as a miniboss!

P.S. I'm pretty sure I saw a patch that fixes the Status Bar for when it goes behind objects... but I don't know where it is.

Voice acting is an unusual idea and I like it. The hacks look pretty much great. You've finally got some feedback bro
I have a Discord server as well! (by joining, you agree to the rules)
-----
Basically, I believe in peace and bashing two bricks together.

The idea of the random death sound is cool, but the brief period of loading looks like it could get annoying.
Kinda in hibernation for a while. I hope to be back in full swing soon.
So I'm posting to announce that the second ever spinoff hack, "Krack the Hack", is complete at it's core; all the levels are finished and out the way. I am offering people to beta test the levels from minor stuff to major stuff with Beta Version 0.0.3 (a few private testers tested 0.0.0, 0.0.1, and 0.0.2 for the essentials). If there is enough support in this thread, I will open up a thread on SMWC for when 0.0.5 comes out, as I'm only giving out 0.0.3 in private messages.

Stuff to expect:
-9 "Main Game" levels
-3 "Bonus" levels
-10 Stages are at a span of just 5-9 Screens each with exploration as the main focus.
-1 "Multi-floor" Stage where you collect stages to get to the next "room". You are able to retry in each room.
-1 "Brutal Bonus" Stage unlocked after beating the previous 11 levels where it's a marathon of rooms. Retrying is active.
-The goal is to get 4 keys (reskined Yoshi Coins) to get to the next level. Pretty straight foward.
-There is a moon in each level to find, with some being so well hidden that you probably want to do the unexpected.
-You start out with 25 Lives. This may seem like much, but keep in mind YOU'LL BE NEEDING A LOT MORE IN THE FUTURE.
-It's vanilla styled, but the soundtrack is completely custom custom (the majority is sampled!)

All the Levels:
-Bowser's Basement
-Basin Bottoms
-Snowpeak Storms
-Highlight Heaven
-Lavalamp Lake
-Cave-Mine Corridors
-Clifftop Climbfall
-House of the Hallow
-King Koopa's Keep (Multi-floor)
-
The three levels

-
will remain a secret until

-
you play the game itself. I hate spoiling.
(Brutal Bonus)

To apply for early testing, either post here or Private Message me.

Welp, since there was only one tester, I wasn't able to meet the original deadline (like, at all lol). Even if I did, I sort of realized that I didn't really give Krack the Hack the heart and soul that it deserved compared to the other projects... so I ended up restructuring levels to make them more interesting.

In other news, I've began to redraw a couple of Daizo's Frames for Daizo's Journey. For example, his death frame:

Two more surprises will come very soon, and one of them includes an >>exclusive<< custom boss for Daizo's Journey. Stay tuned!

And a year later, after the failed release deadline of Halloween 2017, Krack the Hack has every level finished. Soon enough, I will be able to provide a test rom in the Hack Testing forum, though we are currently working on some nifty features that shall be exclusive to Krack the Hack, which we're both working hard to get it finished by Halloween. The actual full release is planned to be early next year.

Trailer coming soon...

Its not everyday one sees a full hack having all levels done. Those screenshots look quite alright for what it is, but the titlescreen could stand to be slightly darker on the bg hills and foreground as well as id have some greater contrast on the text on the bottom left if you do darken said foreground.
Modern Redrawn Mario Bros. 1.5 (last update - February 14, 2023, some new bonus frames, tons of minor touchups to various poses)

On Pixel Art Requests: Depends on what it is and if I have the time for it. If its complex and I don't have the time, don't expect me to accept it.

Projects I support:

Beta Thread for Krack the Hack is here!

Oh look at this neato trailer over here.

Now excuse me while I sleep. Oh BTW also, Daizo's Journey songs got updated... go check...that...out.....to......zzzzzzzzz

Huh we made it to an actual deadline. Never happened before.

Let's get back to some Daizo's Journey news!

Finally got around to replacing some of the enemy graphics again, with Spinies now being turned into Red Walking Spiked Munchers (unofficial name). They don't act any different from their original counterparts so why bother trying.

The entrance to the first level of the illusive "World 6". What is in this weird cut-offish void?

Bulbers have been redesigned.
These new versions were present in Krack the Hack!

If you think that's the new redesign.... well, get this.

Daizo himself has got a makeover! This is to improve his design for players who have trouble trying to focus on him when he is in full motion, as suggested by my partner Mellonpizza.

The Silo News
We are working on The Silo together, and we are almost done it's main mechanic. The story, though, is going to be revampt to make it more child friendly suitable for audiences. But to show off two screens so far:

From elevators to creepy spider robots, this horror game is going to be very much going to be an experience nobody will soon forget.

Since Krack The Hack has been released for at least 4 months, I thought it would be time to reveal that yes, the hack P-switch back from 2013 has returned to be the next romhack to be developed under the Mushroom Kingdom: Beyond The Worlds franchise under the name "P-switch: The Ultimate P-switch Void".

P-switch was received with praise for it's unique structure of having 4 sections with a different gimmick in between, and it's time I and Mellonpizza finish what I have initially started all those years ago.

If you need a plot summary:
Mario and Luigi, 6 months after a brutal war known as the Attack of 78, decide to take a vacation on Yoshi's Island only to meet a mysterious alien being calling himself Daizo (SELF-INSERT!) with his supposed koopa brother Krack. The two never-before-seen beings request the brothers to investigate "The P-switch Void" to go after a "totalitarian ruler", in which Mario agrees to do it in exchange for 10,000 Coins. After Daizo's thanks, the Mario Brothers head out near the cliffside of Yoshi's Island to use a warp that Krack has set up. What lies beyond the place? Find out when this hack releases! (or just play the demo, but keep in mind the bad cutscenes)

(skip to 1:35 for the new version's opening)

We will keep y'all posted. Don't forget to watch the thread so you don't miss a single bit of news for this ongoing series of ours!

This hack looks very intrestin, i hope you are havin fun with project and just keep up the good work with it bud #smrpg{:3}
Thank you and have a nice day

Since the dawn of time, Mario's First Adventure was always made to become the first entry of Mushroom Kingdom: Beyond The Worlds... It was a high peak of it's time, with it's unique and fun mechanic of portraying Mario in the most realistic way possible; about how he never gets a powerup when he first enters the Mushroom Kingdom. I mean, if you were suddenly warped into a magical kingdom with turtle humanoids and mushroom people, how could you know you can turn into a big plumber boy by eating mushrooms and smoking Fire Flowers?

If you haven't played this grand masterpiece of an SMW Rom Hack, please download it and try it out. It has more downloads than even 100 Rooms of Enemies! The numbers don't lie... #tb{:j}

E: This is an April fools joke, don't take this post too seriously now. This hack is not canon.

Well, now that april fools is 2 months over, it's time to show off more stuff!

New(ish?) title screen graphics! The old ones were made back in 2013 and it's like... 2019 so I may as well update it to reflect current standards even Krack The Hack establishes.
(No, 2022 is not a final release date, but I would prefer it if it was LUL)

The status bar has changed to be more circular.

Now instead of Jinker's troopers being in Bowser's Techtonic Doomship, now Bowser's proper army is here! Nothing else has really changed much.

The World 5 stage "World 2 - Desert Land" has started! Features a different type of Koopa Troopa, more adapted for intense heats. (they function the same as regular koopas)

Finally, as one knows regular grinders are very good for chopping down wood, and that's fitting for Bowser's army considering his doomships are usually made of wood... same cannot be said for Jinker's Army, and thus he needs metal grinders to cop down metal.

I am currently also reworking the second OP to be the ost post. It's nowhere near finished but hopefully I can fancy it up in the next couple days.
