Bowser: Nintendo of America's newest president.

And no, not the actual Bowser, but his name is Doug Bowser, and he's now in charge as the new president of Nintendo of America after Reggie Fils-Amie stepped down for about 15 years.

We will miss Reggie and his "body is ready".

I'm gonna miss Reggie, wish him the best going forward. The retiring video got me.

With that said though..welcome, King Bowser!

With Reggie retiring and Iwata having passed away a few years ago, this really is the end of an era to me. Both of them were basically the faces of Nintendo in my eyes, they have been there throughout most of my childhood and teenage years, bringing me some of my best memories of that time. In my head, Nintendo kinda feels like a different Nintendo now with them gone. Of course this isn't to say that Nintendo doesn't have a lot of other great personalities. For example, I really like Koizumi and appreciate that he's becoming more of a representative face at Nintendo. I'm really looking forward to Nintendo's future in many ways. It still feels like a major part of my childhood has just ended, though. I certainly hope we'll see Reggie again in some form in the future, but even if not, I will always appreciate all the fun memories I have of his time at Nintendo.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
It's a little disappointing to say the least... hearing that Reggie's going to retire. He has such a memorable face to me.

I quite agree! I really wish to see him come around in April and be like.

APRIL FOOLS!

I had this in my file bin for almost a decade. I really hope that this foretells of him coming back.

Maybe there will be an epic battle between Bowser and Reggie. Wouldn't that be interesting? Still, the new guy seems interesting.

But I have heard he has some past ties with working with EA. That concerns me a bit... but that's only a post I read on another forum I watch over. If that doesn't make Bowser truly evil, I don't know what.

EA, huh? That can't be good. I just hope Bowser's learned the error of their evil ways...

The irony of this username is not lost on me. : P

But who knows? Maybe when he moved on that's when EA became worse?

Maybe we can see an April Fools joke about a "Super Bowser Maker", where Bowser is the character you play as, and Mario is the true villain. I wouldn't put it past Nintendo.

In before it confirms Matpat's theory.

Not sure if those positions should raise concern... But according to Google those positions seem to be related to intended sales milestones and such...

It truly is the end of an era, but I'll only be truly disappointed if over time he doesn't turn out to be the personification of an utter meme like Reggie was.

I was suspecting Bowser to work on Nintendo since the parental controls trailer, but I didn't expect he'd replace Reggie...
Let's say my body wasn't Reggie, ok?
Jokes aside, it's sad how Nintendo lost 2 of the most iconic ppl of the company : First was Iwata, now Reggie... Who's going to be next?
RIP my friend's Ridley, he dropped it cuz I combo'd him a bit tol much as Mario.
