Pewdiepie vs. T-Series

What do you prefer?

What do you think about the Pewdiepie vs. T-Series?
What do you prefer? Pewdiepie or T-Series?
Explain why?

Do you think Pewdiepie will survive?
Memes aside, I honestly don't care a whole lot either way, since neither really interest me and I think the whole thing's way overhyped. If I had to choose I'd go with Pewdiepie, but I haven't really watched his stuff.

And despite this mild preference, I feel like it's inevitable that he will be passed eventually - if not by T-Series, then someone else. But that's just what I think.
This thing has been blown way out of proportion and that's a fact. It's annoying. Don't pay any attention to it please.
I enjoy the meme but I couldn't care less for PewDiePie (for multiple reasons) so neither is a good option to me.
I don't even care about PewDiePie, but I care even less about T-Series. I subbed to him but I don't really watch his videos. I guess I'm kind of a hypocrite for that but I can understand the whole "YouTube is more corporatized and less homegrown" aspect. TheGamerFromMars video certainly doesn't help. There's speculation of sub-botting and YouTube themselves facilitate growth to dethrone PewDiePie because "he needs to be defined by his mistakes forever." Not that I believe that as if it was gospel, but it does sound plausible.

I think Pewds will eventually be surpassed.

Pewdiepie's content has become way too stale so I don't really watch him anymore. His videos in mid 2016 to late 2017 were hilarious, but now he has become what he hated. I just really care that creators need be above corporations, especially on a website with the slogan "Broadcast yourself".
I was never a huge fan of Pewdiepie personally. I couldn't bear to watch any of his videos for longer than a minute up until around the time that Retsupurae video making fun of him was released, but even then he still didn't lay off the unnecessary screaming rape "jokes" for a long time. I actually thought his videos finally started to become pretty decent from ~2014-2016 (minus that ridiculous stunt where he said he'd delete his channel if more people subscribed to him), but now his content has just become boring than anything.

On the other hand, I've literally never even heard of T series until I saw this thread so I obviously don't actually care too much anyway. I'm not the biggest fan of Indian techno-pop-music, but just the fact alone that it's a record label company makes me pretty confident that it'll soon overtake PDP in terms of subs.

Of course PewDiePie. We don't need a botting company to be number 1 on YouTube. A lot of their videos don't make sense when you can't
speak their Indian langauge. Let's see how it's going..
Regardless how you feel about PewDiePie being a "muh Nazi" and other things and regardless on how I feel about his content mostly being just "lol random, doesn't interest me", the bigger cultural context is that YouTube is one of the major arenas of conflict in our modern discourse with the way YouTube is bedfellows with big corporations and governments instead of supporting the average content creator who may or may not want to make it big. The Pewds vs T-Series conflict is only a footnote for the many other battles on that platform.

I think this thread poll is missing option 3: Neither
Or something along those lines. Never got all the hubub about those two. And for a time, I could care less about Pewds. But lately watched a few of his things and he is alright I suppose.

I just prefer other content creators. Too much popularity can get to a person I think.

YouTube's music channel has always had more subscribers than Pewdiepie and I've never really seen anyone even acknowledge this, honestly. I think most people just disregard bot channels to begin with, so if we're going that far then why not just consider the most subscribed after T-Series to be #2?

While running the risk of sounding like I'm simply replying to this forum just for the sake of doing so, I really feel like there should be a 'do not care' option.

Don't care for either of them. Whether Pewds stays #1 or T-Series passes him, it doesn't change the fact YouTube is shitting the bed with its corporate shilling.

STELLA!
If you ask me, this thread should be closed because of the horrendous mass shooting in New Zealand where 48 people were killed and 49 were injured.
The shooter was livestreaming the shooting, and said "vote pewdiepie" afterward in reference to this whole competition. It's gotten way too out of hand.

So mods, I think you should do the right thing here.

ooooooooooor it can be left open to allow for more discussion (maybe into a more broader subject). events are dynamic and thus threads need to be as well
I don't like pewdiepie myself, but I don't think the thread needs to be closed because of the events last night. We can remain civil in how we post. That said, I will keep watch on this thread in case it gets heated.
t-series surpassing pewdiepie is interesting because of the cultural shift it represents on youtube. i've watched maybe one or two of pewdiepie's videos (i'm not a fan and his clickbait is kinda obnoxious) and t-series is probably sub botting, but the cultural impact of the highest-subbed individual on the site being surpassed in numbers by a corporate channel is worth acknowledging.

it was bait to get people fighting each other over something completely unrelated (from what i've read he also mentioned fortnite). a depressing amount of people took it, but i'm pretty confident that most people here are aware enough to just...not

I don't think that should be a big deal. PewDiePie himself tweeted afterwards that he didn't like having his name associated to a mass shooter. As mentioned above, it was nothing less than a bait for the sake of wanting to stir up unnecessary fights. It should be common sense.
