EU article 13 and SMWC

I was just reading through this thread.

As an EU citizen whose only knowledge of law comes from Phoenix Wright trilogy (lol), I wonder: could the article 13 (or any of the copyright-related articles, for that matter) affect SMWC and their upload rules?

Will there be some restrictions for the EU-based accounts or are we a small enough website to avoid having to worry about it?
I think this is being blown way out of proportion.

How would article 13 affect SMWC? Article 13 is about controlling the sharing of creative content without the authorisation of the original creator. Maybe this would be a problem if we shared ROMs around, since they belong to Nintendo, but that's not the case. bps patches are already perfectly legal and I don't think article 13 will change that. If you're thinking about stuff like screenshots of SMW, I don't think Nintendo will ever go out of their way to take them down, I don't even think that's something that article 13 would allow them to do in the first place.

Like you said, this is a small place, and money isn't at stake like with Youtube for example. So there's no real incentive for the site to set some kind of content filter, it wouldn't make any sense
Seriously, SMWC is probably one of the last places that could hypothetically be affected by article 13, there's nothing to worry about!
