Euphionia: Chapter I

Euphionia: Chapter I started as an SMW Hack a while ago. In recent weeks I've decided to port my current progress into a Game engine and begin to work on it as an actual, all-original project. At this point, I haven't made much progress in the development of the game. BUT, I have been sinking a lot of work into the Soundtrack, which is what I'll be sharing today(just one track, currently).

This is a song currently just titled "Forest":

This will be the BGM for some forest areas.

I'll be posting progress on Euphionia to my Youtube channel, and I'll post a lot of it here, as well.

Thank you for checking it out, and be sure to check back from time to time to see the progress :p
New Track from the Euphionia OST!
This one is town music.

Thanks for listening! Feedback is welcome.
NEW MUSIC!

Underground

Mushrooms

And one that isn't publicly available on YouTube yet, Graveyard
I'm back with some more progress!
Sorry that I haven't updated here in a while, I'm much more active on my Twitter, @Euphionia, where I post daily updates most of the time. Anyway, here's some of what I've accomplished recently:

Soundtrack:

Desert -

Caverns -

Circus -

Chinchilla Sphinx (Inside) -

Any feedback is welcome. Thank you for checking out Euphionia :P
Looks very interesting from what I'm seeing so far. Judging by the music, I'm assuming you're aiming for a rather lonely and calm atmosphere, maybe with a bit of a dark tone, focussed on exploration? That's the vibe I'm getting so far, and I do kinda like it. I don't know what it reminds me of, but it does give me a bit of a familiar feeling.

What engine are you using? Game Maker Studio (or something similar)? Or coding an engine from scratch?
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!

outside of a few populated areas in the game, yeah, it's supposed to be pretty lonely with very few people to interact with. And it is intended to be fairly open and exploration based for the most part. Kinda like Zelda meets 2d-platformer, you know? But I take inspiration from quite a few different games, Zelda and Megaman being the biggest inspiration. Perhaps it reminds you of one of those?

GDevelop, it's a newer engine that cuts back drastically on the need to code things, being largely event-based. It's not the best engine around, but with some time it can create a very solid game. plus, it's free.
Actually, I think it's mostly some indie games that it reminds me of. Right now, I'm thinking of Terraria and Knytt Stories, but there's probably even more Indie games it reminds me of that I can't quite put my finger on right now. I think that is why it feels so familiar to me: it reminds me of not one, but multiple different indie games (in a good way).

Oh, haven't heard of that engine before. Looks interesting, and of course free stuff is always a bonus.

I see. I played Terraria a bit a few years ago. Perhaps it's still influencing me a bit? I've never played Knytt Stories, though. I take inspiration from basically any game that I enjoy, I'm likely influenced by at least dozens of games ...Including some I'm not even consciously aware of lol
If anyone is interested in playing the alpha, here's a link!
[I removed the link because I'm deleting this file]
It's only 1 area right now, and it's obviously still in the early stages of development, there's a lot of work to be done.
Feedback is appreciated!
