Unfiled: Gooey interfering with text

BugDuplicate

I saw some talk about Gooey breaking some text in posts in this site. Some people don't only hate this for such hindrance it brings, but also for its goofy look. I don't like it much, either.
Gooey, more like Goofey :D
If you want part of your text function correctly, i.e. without Gooey, you must use tag 'code' or HTML class 'filter-noemote' or separate characters from one another with space. Here I give a couple examples of strings that can be affected by Gooey.

Code
Type:Port

Code
<g8g8>d+8d+8g8g8

Code
()

Code
(

Code
Type:Original

Code
Authors:Darius

Otherwise, they would be:
Type:Port
<g8g8>d+8d+8g8g8
()
(
Type:Original
Authors:Darius

See? Now they're looking more amusing than they ought to and you can't read them without getting distracted.

I see two fixes in this situation:
1) Allowing emoticons to display in posts only when emoticons are separated by spaces
2) Removing Gooey set once and for all
If either possibility gets implemented, I'll be happy.

Basically, I believe in peace and bashing two bricks together.

The most efficient solution to this is to add the ability to disable emoticons for a post, which already exists as issue #1.

I don't like Gooey, either, but he'd most likely be phased out as the default set (likely swapped with Turn Block), not removed entirely, which doesn't solve the problem. I'm against changing emoticon codes because it would break old posts.

I'll keep the issue open for a few days in case someone else wants to express their opinion.
1) I forgot this feature existed. It's not clear enough to disable emojis in text, though.
2) Phasing out Gooey as default set would be possible in database reset which is not required now, wouldn't it?
