So this thread should be used to continue discussion of the randomizer, or Scrycrafter as I will refer to it from now on. Now like I last said in the other thread, I have Scrycrafter now able to generate a test block area of all blocks.
Now I thought of a really fun game you can play, soon!
You'll want to put one of the datapack folders right in one of your save's 1.14 worlds. This DOES NOT work with 1.13 fully (block data support only 1.14).
The name is based on the randomizer's seed. Very recommended to use the same seed for the world you choose (for consistency)! You can use it however you want.
Edit: I used to have stuff related to the game. I'll leave it here for reference but for now the mini game isn't fully complete. You can, however, play it in your own way still.
I am looking for Beta Testers! Please feel free to contact me so I can get a few testers together.
Here's a video I made. Excuse me sounding tired. I've been exhausted putting this together and wanted to get this video done way long ago.
It will premiere soon! Feel free to check this out around 6 PM central or a couple of hours from now. I am looking for Beta Testers so please feel free to let me know if you're interested. Streaming and videos made are encouraged!
I was sort of exhausted when making this but wanted to finally release some video. So hope you enjoy!
I'd also like to let known that Scrycrafter can now randomize recipes. I included 6 new datapacks in the thread's original post that are generated with the randomizer. So feel free to enjoy them!
But really this looks great I love the idea of random drops akin to other loot table randomizes but the fact that you can have custom recipes is amazing and would add a great challenge to the game.
Randomizes recipes; either result or ingredients, or even both! You can pick to refine things.
*Configuration of blocks randomizer will ignore or add blocks/items not found in items list. This typically will be things like debug stick, or command_block. Definitely don't recommend adding bedrock or command_block here but hey, to each their own! Configuring blocks in this way WILL change results of your seed. Therefore, all official seeds will be referred to from default configuration. This will likely have to change sometimes in the future.
*GUI - This is something I definitely wanted done before 1.0 becomes official. This is mostly set in stone the way I like it, but am open to ideas and making it look even better!
What else would I like to add? Well after 1.0, I have mentioned the idea of a Resource Pack randomizer as well. It will likely be basic but will do the important swapping of textures and whatnot. I got to be careful, of course, but I have some ideas on how to do it. I also have an idea to make a complete recipe generator script as well. And I also want to make an option to "fix a few things" relating to the game, such as glass not dropping anything when you don't silk touch.
I also have the mini game I want to work on as well. This would be really good on my multiplayer server.
Not related to the program, but I do want to have a server up and running that does randomization every hour or so and it is completely random each time, even what is chosen to be randomized.
I have some other ideas as well of course, but I am definitely open to some feedback as well. The program is close to being released and open sourced. People can possibly work on features and submit them to the dev branch.
Don't know who all would, but I am likely to be the main developer, along with Katie who does work with me.
Speaking of PinkPandaKatie, a special shout out to her! She helped me get into Python in the first place and started some ground work for me and helped me learn a bit along the way. While I consider myself the main developer, she has done a lot of amazing work as well! So credit is due where credit is due! You'll see the git history as well.
With that said, I am looking for Beta Testers still. No one has really offered and I'd like to hand out a few copies of the program for heavy testing. It'd help a lot and get this more ready for the public!
Thanks for your time! Happy randomizing!
