it took me a bit to realize that the volcano wasnt supposed to be an above-ground volcano, and that was water in the background. perhaps you could use some tile recoloring of something like the smw cutscene water tiles to match the top of the water? and maybe the volcano a bit more blueish?

Actually it's not under water, it's in front of a far sea of water.

alright so i think the perspective is kinda fucked up then.

the water and the land the volcano rests on would be assumingly even - in which case theyd just be at the same elevation. unless it's supposed to be in front, but then the level would be taking place high above the volcano which is also confusing

I ended up just scratching the volcanos. Now it's just low mountains/hills, almost like the edge of a cliff I guess.

The background looks impressive for the base rom limitations. How many palettes does it use?
After many fixes due to the level being illegal, I think I finally got the look down... also I finally gave the level a name.

Daizo Dee Von, i think that you shouldn't need to pick up so many one-line block for no reason (like on the place that have three blue koopas).
Looking good (at least, a whole lot better than mine)! I love your choice of blocks and the palette. I also kind of have a level like this, but I think yours will probably win. Keep up the good work #smrpg{:D}!
