Mine is Pink Gold Peach. He makes awesome, creative and beautiful hacks in my opinion.
I don't really have a fancy looking footer so don't really bother reading this. Oh well you kept reading anyway, did i caught your attention?

Daizo Dee Von. Their hacks feel like what might happen if Toby Fox hacked SMW instead of EarthBound.

Worldpeace, he's the main reason i got interested on playing the JUMP hacks (specially the first one) for the way he manages the gimmicks of his levels

Pink Gold Peach, he put his effort on his 2 hacks, i also like most of the concepts and the creativity of the levels (for example, in NSMW2 he made a level based on the mushroom island biome of Minecraft)

Yoshifanatic, i know he isnt that active but he could manage a challenging difficult on his hacks (specially YSQ). He made in his hacks a mix between humour and creativity.
Haimari #smrpg{sad}
worldpeace, because of creative design philosophy that reminds me of older Pixar films combined with awesome music, and he was a major reason I started hacking in the first place. His normal-difficulty levels are just as creative. Also Katerpie, because the videos are so satisfying to watch (quality over quantity) and like worldpeace, packs creativity into them.

should be predictable - worldpeace! Others include Ft029, Lazy and idol.
One of my favorite hackers of all time is worldpeace. I don't even need to explain why.

Another one is Sokobansolver - he was one of my inspirations for my kaizo hacking career and makes awesome levels that are utterly satisfying to watch and play.

I am Toby Fox. thanks btw

I still would say Evilguy0613 is one of my favourites. Good story writer and also a really good level designer that doesn't revolve around jank to make interesting stages. Mellonpizza too for all the collaborative projects we've put together over the last 3-4 years (maybe longer?).

Discounting friends... and that also includes worldpeace and Eevee, I'd say anonimzwx with his very impressive ASM-filled levels is what happens when carol polishes his work.

If I needed to name some, I'd say beyrevia and TSC, both japanese hackers which are known thanks to the VIP hacks (especially the latter). They have a clever level design when it comes to do difficult levels (even back in the day when VIPPERS were developing their hacks, in the 2000s era). But when it comes to western people I can only think of lolyoshi, almost the only western SMW hacker that can replicate/adapt the japanese level design very well, in my opinion.

But yes, levels aren't the only thing in SMW hacking. Speaking of ASM, I've always liked RussianMan's sprites. Carol is a "must say" in the topic too.

In any profession the question that is always asked is, "Who is the best?" People have a desire to determine the one who achieved the greatest success at their field. In many cases there is no definite answer, but we spend our time debating who excelled to the greatest extent.

Smw is no different. For years hacking fans have argued over who is the greatest player of all time. Players like worldpeace, Morsel, and CDMerkel2003 are among the players who come to mind. However, the one player who defined greatness was sinc-x.

It’s hard to compare players from different eras. The best way to do so is by evaluating how dominant a player was during his time. Sinc-x was named to 10 All-SMW first teams, essentially meaning he was among the best five players in SMW for 10 seasons. He also added nine All-Defensive first-team selections over the course of his VLDC career.

Jordan was the SMWC’s most valuable player five times, and many believe he should have won even more. Most notably, it is widely believed that idol unjustly won the 1998 MVP over sinc-x because writers believed he had won enough. Sinc-x was also named the SMWC’s defensive player of the year in 1988.

By any calculation, sinc-x is the greatest scorer the league has ever seen. He won a record 10 scoring titles, and boasted a career average of 30.1 points per game, the most in SMW history.
All I do is report the stats
sokobansolver for getting me into understanding mechanics of SMW by MMD series (like for example simple glitches with duplicated yoshis, block and items dupying etc.) and worldpeace because holy shit his music is awesome, he is great asm hacker, and setting standard of kaizo hard with classic CoC, also he contribiuted to JUMP, wildest smw collab for me (but it is sometimes janky).
Sweet dude makes great levels with great music. Super DGR World is a great first kaizo hack to get you started. Very creative
Mine has got to be GbreezeSunset! His hacks are just fantastic! His levels are always very creative and well designed, and he manages to pull off difficult levels in a way that they're fair and really enjoyable!
I've greatly enjoyed playing any hack/level he took part in the creation, with a special mention to Banzai Mario World, which is likely my favorite kaizo hack!

When it comes to level design, it should comes as no shock that the East is clearly superior to the inferior, and much less intelligent, West. While western hackers are content with their traditional, Nintendo-style levels and shallow JUMP gimmicks, eastern hackers, trained in superior video games such as Front Mission: Gun Hazard, Sutte Hakkun and Keio Flying Squadron 2, make amazing levels that take full advantage of graphics, music, ASM and the limits of SMW's engine. Who cannot agree that hackers such as carol, Anikiti, Pyua, Haimari, wagokoro, beyrevia, TSC, even South Korean hackers such as worldpeace, PokerFace, SkywinDragoon, and of course, yoshi9429, create stages that rival Nintendo's in quality? Even Shiggy Miyamoto would be impressed with such levels as Absurd Athletic 2, Mario's Notebook and That Which Can Eternal Die. Such levels are a dream to play and showcase how far the SMW engine can go. I cannot deny taking time off my busy schedule to partake on some delicious Pocky (or Pepero in the case of the Korean hacks) and booting up hacks such as Romancing Mario or S Mario. Truly, the mid-00s to the mid-10s were a golden age of hacking, but who knows? Possibly hacks such as Isikoro and Summer World could revitalize SMW hacking as we know it by freeing us from the chains of Kaizo (a genre that appropriates the stellar game design of Kaizo Mario 1-3 to make lacking clones).
