What's the thing that you like that a few SMW Hacks use?

Title. I would like to know the things that you like a lot and that apparently a few hacks use such as a Layer 3 Smash, for example.

bosses.
bosses in general (i like custom bosses a bit more), if i see a hack without bosses, is like basically seeing an empty .bps file on a zip (not really, it just seems a bit empty)
There are some really unique sprites that have been added since I left and so far I have barely seen them used.

Maybe its a bad example as I am not too familiar with the use of this one in particular but YCZs stationary magikoopa is a really fucking good sprite that can be utilized in some crazy cool ways and even the bugs with it can make really awesome additional mechanics if you want to abuse that too.

And not many people use the bomb venuses or any of the wierd creative venus plants. Onoy that arching volley one I have seen. I think that was coded by imamelia (?).

There are tons of great sprites but people like to play it safe and just use the mario maker clones or roto discs. Its kinda sad really.

SA-1. It's so complicated that if I ever want to make a hack with SA-1 I'd probably use either the VLDC base or the BLDC base (I'd be okay with being restricted to what resources the BLDC uses other than music and just think of creative ways to (ab)use them.)

Dynamic Z players. I just seem addicted to them, using them in all of my hacks. They're just so awesome and impressive. With a Dynamic Z player, you can have extremely smooth player graphics and animations and can place 8 16x16 sprite tiles wherever you want for each player animation frame, but I don't think I've seen anyone else use them.

I mean, look at what can be done with Dynamic Z players, so why am I the only one using them?

Vertical levels are a thing I don't see much. I like the concept of either falling a lot (e.g. Sunken Ghost Ship) or you have to climb to get to the top (e.g. Gnarly). I understand it's not the main gimmick, but some hacks either barely use them or don't use at all.
Generally I feel like a significant number of custom resources are left out, maybe out of simplicity or lack of curiosity. I'd like seeing more SMW and SMB3 sprite tweaks and variations.

I also like seeing themes that were not covered bazillion times, when a romhack just has grasslands, ice world, desert world and cave world I don't like it so much. I feel like the themes of town, mecha, water, cloud, mountain, jungle, have not been done so much.

I mean, this is also what I'll try to achieve in my romhack project, but I often meet problems of compatibility between resources, or fail to understand basic stuff like the sprite spawn routine.
