Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario All Stars Styled Giant Piranha Boss by P-Tux7

File Name: Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario All Stars Styled Giant Piranha Boss
Submitted: by P-Tux7
Authors: P-Tux7
Type: Ripped
Purpose: Sprite
Description: Dahnamics' giant piranha boss uses sprites from SMAS SMB3, but they're very pixely, so I cleaned them up. Tilemap and palette are the same as the original boss, so just import this .bin in LM over the SP3.bin included with the original boss. SP2 and SP4 are not changed because they already have good pixel quality.

  • Through Discord conversation in #graphics I made you aware that your submissions were lacking the in-game screenshots and verbatim quoted the following Submission Guideline:

I also explained that it's more important for the user to see that the graphics work for the intended sprite than to see the graphics animating. Seeing how you were approached by a moderator and given the opportunity to fix your submissions beforehand, but in the end you didn't for some reason, and later on submitted more submissions without in-game screenshots, I see no option other than to reject these. Please don't ignore the Submission Guidelines nor any moderator's instruction.
  • The graphics need some more work. The stem and leaves look flat and the latter also look squarey, especially in the frames to the left of the file. Some shading on the stem specifically would be nice, because in graphics as big as these, the lack of it becomes really apparent. Removing the leaf veins was a questionable move since that distances your graphics from the original SMAS SMB3 style and only makes the leaves look less detailed and interesting. Lastly, the teeth were inconsistently shaped and spaced from each other, which makes them look broken and as if you just upscaled the original and applied some filter. I recommend taking some small liberties and shaping them to something that has more focus on looking nice first and resembling the original second.
Note: due to a site error, I wasn't able to make a single rejection log for the five submissions that share the same problem with in-game screenshots.
