Why are there so many kaizo light hacks lately?

Is that the new popular genre? Do people like playing these types of hacks? Or do creators enjoy making them? Why do you guys believe kaizo light hacks have become so prevalent lately?
Savestateless kaizo is a niche that has been surging in popularity thanks to sites like Twitch and the like. Combine that with normal SMW hacking not being as popular as in the old days and... From what I've heard they're also quite fun to make.

'Cause not only is it easier to make and play, it's also the most popular genre among streamers and other people used to play regular hacks. It's more "famous" than its harder equivalent, of which there's a small audience.

It's a longer post, so you have a TL;DR here:
- Twitch streamers made this genre popular.
- SMM(2) has a SMW theme, but SMW hacking offers more on the board.
- Some people enjoy hacks that are intended to be played in one certain way more so than regular obstacles and they want something that plays toolless.
- Making them is more fun than kaizo hard or pit.
- Popularity of kaizo hard has been declining.

We have more and more people who don't really enjoy kaizo hacks forcing you to use savestates and find regular hacks boring. But why?

It's indeed thanks to communities like Twitch. Streamers who play difficult games legit (i.e. with no tools and even on a console) are generally highly respected. Popularity of kaizo increased due to rise of people following PangaeaPanga, GlitchCat7, Linkdeadx2, or Dode on Twitch. Such streamers started to think what if they speedran kaizo hacks other than Kaizo Mario World trilogy. It's easier to plan a route for kaizo than regular hacks due to their nature. And if you can beat Storks and Apes and Crocodiles (which is difficult) quickly with (next to) no deaths, you're more likely to get more appreciation than most of the streamers. People don't find kaizo hard as enjoyable as they used to, so something else must've jumped onto its place.

Speaking of Panga, he's also a SMM and SMM2 level maker. According to this logic, Super Mario Maker games also have an influence in SMW kaizo hack popularity. Generally, you have more opportunities in SMW hacking while SMM has different game styles. One of them is SMW.

Some other people like playing this type of hacks. It's more likely they won't think regular obstacles are fun any more after seeing so many of these. But what makes kaizo fun? If a hack answers these questions affirmatively, it's enjoyable:
- Does it have a notable amount of precision?
- Does it have fun traps and many unpredictable events you learn from?
- Does it flow well?
- Does it use a variety of tricks?
- Is it fair to the player?
- Is it void of weird difficulty spikes?
If it additionally pays attention to these details, it's even better:
- Does it bring many new things to the table?
- Does it execute something known in a fresh way?
- Is it highly likely you can speedrun it without many deaths no matter how hard it is?

They're indeed fun to make, too. It's a lot easier to make kaizo light than kaizo hard or pit, as you don't need so much time to test your level. For example, Sokobansolver hasn't been enjoying making kaizo hard lately, as he's made enough already.

It is a trend, also I'm making a hack where the levels are normalish hard at first but tends to go Kaizo at the latter.
