fast layer 2 smash

yep...me again

anyway, i am making a level where i really need the fast layer 2 smash thing, but i am not sure exactly how to do that. i know there are layer 2 smash sprites, but they all do the same thing, and half the time, they do it wrong. this is what i am working with (the layer two part is that bar of chompers):

sorry about the giant picture, it just came out that way. so yeah, what sprites do i place in the level and where to make this work (currently, the problem is that i hear one smash noise, and then when i get to the area where the layer two is, it doesnt work. i have also had it magickly jump to the down position, but without the smash effect before (different level) but that level was scraped.

so um, yeah. help please

btw the background isnt white, i just made it that way for the pic so you could see better.
i'd really like some help with this guys
All layer 2 smash commands should be placed at the very top left of the level.
still not working. (sigh)

i have a slow autoscroll on the beggining also, but that needs to stay. i think you guys know what i am wanting, so i am just going to leave the mwl file here, and if anyone has the patience to put up with me they can help and have my eternal gratitude.

I don't think autoscroll and layer2-smash will work. I'm also not that sure if the smash command will work with vertical scroll enabled. In addition most of the smash commands are very complicated, they work only for certain screens (one of the commands for example make layer 2 smash slow at first and if you move on it will switch to a much faster setting) There are some screens in which layer 2 stuff will not show up, it can also happen that it vanishes. I have seen this in some hacks and also included this glitch in my garbage hack.

So, overall, if you want to work with layer2-smash, stay within the limitations. Keep the level to horizontal scroll only, don't use autoscroll commands in the same level, and in addition I would insert the samsh sprite in the beginning of the level. I'm not saying that it won't work if you use it later, I've never tried that, but I don't remember seeing this in any hack, so I would guess it will not work, but it can't hurt to try. Either way, that's what I'm doing when it comes to layer2-smash: Since the layer2-smash doesn't work on all screens, I take a look on one of Nintendo's levels which made use of the command and place my layer2-smash-stuff in the same screens as Nintendo did. With that, you can't go wrong.
