What are some songs you can't believe haven't been ported to SMW yet?

After listening to most of the soundtrack from Bravely Default, I checked the SMW Music section out of curiosity to see if there were any ports.

Not one port. ;w;

I guess you can add Bravely Default to that long list of games that haven't been done yet.

STELLA!
I'd add to the list that thing called Homestuck. There's a lotta music, and a lot of it is very much the sorta thing folks could put in hacks.

To be fair, there are two ports from Homestuck so far! (I adore the Moonsetter port) But with such a MASSIVE library of potential tracks to port, and a fair few of said tracks being written by the beloved Toby Fox, it feels like a sorely missed opportunity!
Given that this is a SMW hacking site and should have a lot of Nintendo fans, I am surprised at the lack of Paper Mario, Yoshi's Story, Yoshi's Cookie, Yoshi's Safari, Donkey Kong 64, Mario Kart 64, and Mario Party songs. I'd think these soundtracks would be dogpiled on to complete and be used. A lot of attention has been granted to indie and obscure games as of recent, which is actually pretty neat because it gives people a big variety. I never would've imagined the music section would become much larger than the graphics section!

I'll second that the Ys series's music is criminally underrated and should see more porting because while it's an RPG series, the style of music actually suits platformers with its intensity. Popful Mail's OST: same thing, a platformer-style RPG with good platforming music and I'm glad a couple of others have taken notice to how awesome the soundtrack is to port a few songs (though some of the very best tracks are not in all versions.)

Just look above you...
If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!

Agreed. Ys in general is underrated if you ask me.

Nothing from Rokko-Chan has been ported either, and the only song from MegaMari has existed for quite a while now.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.

Dominator ported the boss theme. If you can find my old Japanese port pack somewhere it’s in there.
Since this is a music thread, can anyone tell me the name of the songs used in YUMP 2’s Yellow Switch Palace? Timestamped the first one then continue until the end of the level:

I’d also like to know the songs used in this level since they’re some good bangers too:

The thread is about songs which haven't been ported yet, not which song you're searching.
I searched for Street Fighter ports just now and saw some really good ports... except for Ryu's Theme. Like, that one is iconic, so it really caught me by surprise that it hasn't been done yet.

There was a Bravely Default port uploaded once (I believe That Person's Name Is) but the port was very low quality so it was rejected. A shame since I do like BD.

Seeing we have many general Nintendo fans here, slight lack of ports from new Mario games, Star Fox, F-Zero, new Kirby Games, or new Donkey Kong games saddens me a bunch.

Basically, I believe in peace and bashing two bricks together.

Some Arc the Lad tracks would be nice. The first three games have music by Masahiro Andoh of T-Square and they're pretty chill. I have not checked Twilight of the Spirits, Kijin Fukkatsu or End of Darkness yet, but I imagine they're not bad either.

SEAWAR ported a few tracks from Arc 2 for his hack (the Arc the Lad II based stage and the overworld).

Time to bump this thread!

After playing Ace Attorney Trilogy, I definitively appreciate its soundtrack and there definitively can be more ports from it. Remember: It might be a Visual Novel / Adventure series and most songs are for cutscenes but some of them can be used indeed for levels (overworld, not-really-levels and misc songs still exist). There also is the fact that some ports definitively can get an update.
Specific from the trilogy (haven't played the other games), I can see a port of Investigations ~ Core 2001, Cross Examination ~ Allegro 2002 and Investigation ~ Middle Stage 2004.

Xenoblade, come one, where are all the Xenoblade songs? Be it the first game, X or 2, We Will Know Our Names is the only song from the series we have in the sections.

Yeah, I still wanted to try and make some AA ports at some point myself, mainly these right here, and I've also been thinking about porting these two songs from Apollo Justice for quite a while now lmao; maybe at some point I'll finally port Gyakuten Kenji 2's Pursuit theme as well, who knows... just gotta find the time for it I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And with Xenoblade I've been thinking of porting the music from it for pretty much forever now, especially Mechonis Field from the first game, but fuck me man, that song is too hard for me to pull off, especially since there's no MIDI of it to speak of (also probably why there isn't many Xenoblade ports btw, there's very few MIDIs of it and most of them suck ass lmao); so yeah, sadly I'll have to wait on that one for now #smrpg{sad}

God, I've been thinking of porting Overdrive from Ys II (specifically based around that version btw) for so long rn, you have no idea LMAO; I've been waiting for the perfect time to do it tho, but I'll have to do it at some point, especially since there's a DS port of that game (Legacy of Ys) that I can easily rip MIDIs from, so I literally have no excuse haha

Sigma Stage 1 from Megaman X. Tried searching for it, but it isn't there.

Neither of Project S-11's songs are ported to SMW—what's the problem with that?

Many underrated Mario songs are missing. They sound very great! Maybe it’s because there aren’t many MIDIs from Mario games. Some DKC Trilogy songs are missing too!

Just came back here to say, the mission of porting songs doesn't look to me only as good fun, but also seeing all the songs grow and being used in romhacks. Seeing this thread active, makes me think some users would care enough to hold an open discussion about the purpose of porting.

I must admit I did not succeed recently at identifying trends, most of my picks do not seem to raise interest. If I can I'll rely on what is proposed here.

I'll agree with Ryan than without a midi, the challenge of tackling a good port because rather difficult.

Last example of a port I wanted to try myself on, but found no midi, so I'll also stay relevant to this thread:
Choplifter II - BGM 5

And I thank all the midi porters, music arrangers and spc-extracting tool developers who help me a big deal in my port ventures.
I skimmed through the thread but I haven't seen any mentionings of Waterworld's soundtrack. I wasn't sure if any music from that game has been used in any ROM Hacks or not, but if not there are some absolute bangers in that soundtrack.

That's because most of the songs from that game have been ported already.

Ported.
First modern game that came to my mind: The Messenger. This game has a really cool soundtrack.

Songs from old games: Alundra, Chrono Cross, Brave Fencer Musashi (PS1 rpg games).
