Goof Troop

Hi Guys,

I dont know if this is the right place if not im sorry.
Im looking for Goof troop SNES rom hacks. I saw one website where they change the enemies to make the game harder. I wish more people worked on this game because i think its the best Co-op SNES game ever and i dont want to play the same game over and over again. I would love new puzzles new enemies maps etc.

If you guys know rom hacks or wish this would happen we can always work together. Love this community and love to you all.

Have you played that hack?
Yes i did. Im searching for new rom hacks :)
I have doubts that any others exist at the moment. The author did release an editor but I don't believe it has map support. You could absolutely play around with that, but I would also suggest contacting the author to see if he has any interest in updating his editor to support map editing. He may have a partial ROM map too with some information that wasn't necessarily used to build the editor, possibly enough about map editing to hex-edit a new map in place - if the data's compressed, that will be more complicated though. You'd need to write a way to unpack that to edit and recompress it to reinsert. You can always try range corruption or tweaking different parts to see what happens until you stumble upon map data and learn how to manipulate it the way you want. Until conventional map editing happens, I don't see Goof Troop editing taking off. It's a pretty obscure game. You'd have to rally up fans of '90s Disney and old Disney games to get a base going for it, or it's be a long shot, but maybe Kingdom Hearts fans might even want something to do with it if they're more into it for the characters rather than the RPG element.

Try opening the ROM in YY-CHR and seeing what graphics data is visible, though expect that it'll be compressed. Player graphics tend to less-often be compressed than assets like tilesets. Play with the graphics offsets if you can kind-of see something but it seems to have "lines" through it until it appears clearly in the tile you're on. You might just be lucky and be able to modify sprite appearance with minimal effort and then use the editor to tweak attributes of some of these enemies to make them seem fresh.

P.S. ♥

Just look above you...
If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!
