Hacking question

Is it Ok if I modify something in an existing hack? like for example, if I find something wrong about the graphics or the hack itself, as long as I just keep it and not post it (Well, at least until I get full authorisation from the creator before posting it.)
Gotta aim fast.
I think it's ok to make modifications to any content you download for personal usage if it helps you enjoy it more or you get better use of it.

As long as you don't submit it in any way unless you got permission from the creator, it's fine. Just keep it to yourself.

It depends on what changes you plan to make - if the changes are graphical, I don't think much will be lost either way and it's probably pointless.

Editing for personal use is fine just be aware something like ASM is generally not a good idea since you can break things easily since you don't know where ASM may not already be inserted. Like other's have said though without proper permission just don't submit it.
Thank you, but is cyphermur9t still here? Because I need to ask him something about one of his hacks.

There's an area on the menu bar called member list, it has a nice thing called a search function -hint hint hint hint hint-
Another thing, if I manage to fix an issue in a hack, can I directly submit it?
Gotta aim fast.
You need to show proof that you got permission to submit it, so no, you can't submit it directly.

If the hack has a fixme tag, then submitting an update that fixes the issue and only fixes the issue is ok.
If it does not have the fixme tag do not submit it.
If you modified the hack beyond what is listed that's broken do not submit it.
Also, if you are doing a bug fix for a hack, please let me know too via PM since I am maintaining a list of those interested and those who have finished fixing hacks. You will earn a badge for fixing a broken hack, so I want to ensure that if your update meets the criteria in the announcement thread, you are properly acknowledged and rewarded for the effort.

Check here for details.

Use the submit update button when you upload these hacks as well.

So if I get you right, I can just post a fixed hack that had big issues, like music break or emulator incompatibility. But not the other ones that have small issues, like overworld mistakes for example.
Gotta aim fast.
Correct, If the hack is playable with a minor issue you need the hack creator's permission to submit and update.
