My first Mario World ROM hack!

Standard

Hi there! This Mario World ROM Hack is themed around Mario making a return to Dinasour Land, the hack was originally called SMW Return to Dinasour Land, but that name was already taken by a very good hack I'm playing through, so I decided to name it SMW Bowser's Revenge.
Anyways here are the screenshots! (I've only completed the first world)

Hey there. Glad you decided to get into SMW hacking. I hope you're having fun with it. Unfortunately, I can't really judge much from what you've provided, because there's not much action going on. I would suggest either getting some shots with a bit of action or even upload some video. Either way, good luck! :)

oh alright, thanks
I have decided to restart my hack from scratch, I now know the basics of Lunar Magic and I feel that I can make something much better with my project. I will provide screenshots when I finish the first world entirely.
Awesome
Even though I haven't completed World 1 just yet, I thought it would be a good idea to update this thread. I'm so sorry I haven't been able to provide screenshots or anything, classes have cut down the time I have to do this ROM hack. But anyways, here are some screenshots!

I'm proud of the people like you that create new project hacks and excelent previews. I see this hack as awesome and excelent graphics. Please keep going what are you doing. I see more potential in this hack, good luck.

Hey it's been a while. Umm... I haven't exactly been working on SMWBS since I just got kinda lazy... I don't know if I'll cancel the project all together in the future but I will start to work on it again. Sorry for not giving any updates. I will remake the water level featured in world 1 and then I'll post screenshots of that and the castle for the world including its boss.
I'm back! The first world of SMWBS is officially completed :). Here are a few screenshots:

And also, I have an idea of what the second world is going to be around... Instead of the world being your run of the mill desert world from New Super Mario Bros. it is going to be... er, your run of the mill desert world from New Super Mario Bros. but, it's going to have a sketch book aesthetic. So yeah, look forward to that.

I'm actually pretty curious as to what "desert with sketchbook graphics" might look like, though the screenshots you've provided don't really get this across IMO. Is this something you're planning on implementing later, or am I missing something here?

Otherwise, the screenshots look nice. Your custom graphics don't clash in the first screen, and the background in the second screen looks pretty creative, so you seem to have a sense for aesthetics.

I'm implementing the Desert's pallete and graphics later, those two screenshots are of the first world, So look forward for the second world!
Alright, this is the proof of concept of what Sketchy Desert will look, so let me know what y'all think! I'll try to implement decorative assets later:

Sorry that progress of this is slow, I don't have a lot of time to work on this.
Hmm. I see the idea behind that level. Though I'm kind of curious as for Mario himself. Is his sprite also like the enemy sprites where he looks like a sketch?

STELLA!
Enemies like an eraser or cutting scissors would be very useful here IMO.
Yours sincerely,

I'll not change the palette for Mario so that he'll pop out more, though I think he'll kinda look out of place without a palette change so idk.

Unfortunately, I don't know ASM so I can't put them into the ROM hack, though I'll see if I can replace some graphics to be drawing utensils.
Hey y'all, I'm sorry to say that SMWBS is cancelled. I have no interest or passion for completing this project anymore. I doubt I will do another hack of SMW or participate in contests in SMWCentral, but who knows. Anyways, yeah. Sorry for letting y'all down.

Passion for creating levels comes and goes. I would know. I have a project sitting on the backburner collecting dust that kills me every time i thought about how close to completion it was level-wise but how much work it really needs in order for it to be polished. There's a lot that goes in maintaining the hack, and that can mentally take a lot out of the hack creator.

If you do return, and you get a suggen urge to create something, I suggest something small-scale, or to enter a small contest (doesnt have to be something big like VLDC(insert number here). That way there's less pressure on you to design something.
