Super Mario World Anti-Piracy Screen

Super Mario WorldVideo/TrailerOther

As usual, what I had done for C3 before it started in fact was

This has changed. I was inspired by anti-piracy screen videos on YouTube and an idea popped up in my head. I decided to upload one from Super Mario World.

Without any further ado, here's the video:

This fake anti-piracy meme sure has spread like wildfire.
Just so you know, I'm very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now.
Heh, I love this meme. It makes me wonder how many games actually have anti-piracy screens (or how they would check for that in the first place, and whether or not emulator devs could find a way around it).

I can't believe Mario popped out of my television set and ran out my front porch why would nintendo do this
(Jokes aside, neat video. Would've liked to see the error scroll up like how the game over text does.)
A simple and somewhat authentic anti-piracy screen. This video only scratches the surface for what kind of SMW anti-piracy stuff people could make. Piracy is no party! (But anti-piracy is.)

This meme did something INCREDIBLE for me. I saw this video. It's an anti piracy video for my favorite game of all time, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. It looks very authentic and looks like something the original developers of the game would make. I then discovered that SUPER recently, like, the December 20s recently, A LUNAR MAGIC-LIKE TOOL WAS RELEASED FOR THIS GAME, MY FAVORITE VIDEO GAME OF ALL TIME!!! I've always LOVED the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, and now you'll be able to hack Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky TO YOUR WHIMS! You can add new dungeons, new Pokémon, new cut scenes, even a completely new story! I'm extremely excited to experience the birth of the hacking community of my favorite video game of all time!

The Lunar Magic-like tool for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is called Sky Temple, and I'm already helping someone with his Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky hack. I'd like to make a thread about it, but I don't think I've done enough to warrant me making a thread about a game that isn't mine. All I've done so far is give the hack creator story ideas. Should I still make a thread about the hack?

Click the character on the right side of my layout to visit my Discord server and discuss and play and look at and get updates and sneak peeks of the games and other things I'm making.

I remember getting this screen when I was a kid. Truly a sad day.

Imagine getting this copy of Super Mario Bros. as a 5-year-old kid for Christmas from your parents. When there's a conversation going on on the worst gift you've ever got, you could easily say to anyone your parents bought you trauma for Christmas when you were a little kid.

I'm not really fond of this screen. They used
a SMW Thwomp (this didn't exist back in 1985) and a shockingly high-quality "MAMMA!" scream for NES (it wouldn't handle such high-quality noises, although it'd still be possible to make scream on NES). This doesn't seem realistic, but I get that it was supposed to be creepypasta. Not everyone would like such a type of anti-piracy screen, but it would scare the players so much, they'd buy the genuine copy of their game.
