Gamma V's Art Thread 2021

I didn't want to necro-post on a thread from last year, so I figured I'd just make a new one to show off (mostly) new art.

This doesn't really have a name. It's just a fantasy creature I pixeled in Paint.net.

G1 Megatron Headshot pixeled in Paint.net

Of course, I coulsn't do Megatron and *not* do Optimus Prime. Yeah, this is also my current PFP.

This is the on-screen avatar of the version of Teletraan 1 featured in a short-lived Discord Transformers roleplay. He started evolving upon his first encounter with humans, with his programmed directives for gathering data giving way to curiosity. Humans were something very alien, and thus fascinating, to the AI, as Cybertronians knew next to nothing about organic life in general.

This was drawn after watching quite a bit of Challenge of the GoBots. It's not a bad show, although it's definitely cheesy in much the same way as most 80s cartoons are. CyKill is a typical Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain, and the late Bernard Erhard made him a total ham.

This is Starshot, a character I created for a Discord DM RP I did back in December. She's actually one of many mass-produced Deep Space Colonization Surveyor drones that were created and launched before the Great War between the Autobots and Decepticons. Said war cut her, and all other Starshot units, off from Cybertron, and she was left to drift through space until crashing on Earth. Her state of disrepair, along with the damage sustained from her crash, rendered her completely immobile and caused her to shut down until archaeologists dig her up in the present day. This causes her to reactivate and start broadcasting a distress signal, which Skybolt and my RP partner's character pick up. The Decepticons pick up said signal as well and attack them.

Here's a full-body picture of Starshot in her prime.

This is also based on the RP where I first created Starshot. Megatron manages to bring her aboard the Nemesis while the Autobots are busy fighting some of his minions. He intends to use her to Cyberform Earth, as she's equipped with a device that allows her to Cyberform any planet she determines to be suitable for colonization. She won't just Cyberform a planet indiscriminately though. Her programming forbids her from starting the process without proper authorization from whoever rules Cybertron, and she can't Cyberform an inhabited planet due to the risk it poses to native life. Megatron manages to use the fact that he took over Cybertron via coup to authorize the process, but she still refuses to proceed because Earth is an inhabited planet. Megatron makes several attempts to bypass this restriction, including telling her to delete all her memories from before she was brought onto his warship and trying to convince her that the Autobots are her enemies. Neither strategy works. Instead, they trigger a dangerously unstable type of evolution in her AI that threatens to eventually burn out her neural circuitry. This process manifests as a mental breakdown that reduces her to whimpering, screaming, and only saying the words "Wrong" and "Skybolt." Skybolt, meanwhile, storms the Nemesis by himself to try to save her, only to be captured himself and nearly reprogrammed. When Skybolt and Starshot are reunited, she's getting closer and closer to frying her brain, and Skybolt doesn't even remember her as a result of a memory wipe. That's where the RP ended. The guy flaked out on me because it was turning into a potential love story between Skybolt and Starshot, and he's not a big fan of Transformer romance.

I drew this for a friend of mine who likes sending me pictures of Transformer characters as adorable kitty cats. I decided to draw Skybolt and Starshot in this form.

This was done earlier today in YY-CHR. It actually uses one row of one of Super Mario World's default foreground palettes (03 to be precise).

I also did this under similar limitations. It uses the colors from Row 03 of FG Palette 01. With its two teals and three reddish colors, it seemed suitable for Windblade.

This is VERY old. It dates all the way back to the 2000s, at a time when they only way to get hand-drawn art onto my computer was with a low-res webcam. If anything, it's proof of just how long I've been into Transformers.

I did this one earlier today. It's Prime Arcee rendered with FG palette row 7.

Here's Animated Sentinel Prime's smug mug rendered in Sprite Palette B.

I started this last night after working on a tileset that uses vanilla FG Palette 2. I was thinking, "This palette has reds, blues, and grays. I'm gonna do Optimus Prime!"
