SA-1 freezing/teleport issue (UPDATED)

I've been working on a SA-1 hack for about a month, & every issue I've been able to resolve except this one.

So after coming back & testing a section I finished about a week ago, the game kept teleporting me back to the overworld. sometimes right after my 1st jump, sometime after a few jumps. That level is a vertical autoscroll with screenwrap, & I went back to it after working on a 1 screen transition level. (just trying to list uberasm that may be the cause) I actually noticed this problem in yoshis house a while ago too, but I figured I could come back to that later. (also in yoshis house, it would teleport me immediately after entering every time.)

The problem was also in my backups so I've been painstakingly copying everything to a fresh rom the past few days. & after copying almost everything to a new rom (SA-1, blocks, sprites, & gfx.. just what I needed to put the levels back together & keep it SA-1) the game freezes right after the nintendo presents screen.. I also tried it on another fresh rom, completely unchanged, I only added SA-1 & it still froze.

I have no idea what the cause is, I've already restarted from square one a couple times so any input would be greatly appreciated. It's kind of been slightly demoralizing having these problems push me further & further back.

If the ROM is freezing even with only SA-1 applied, it's possible the issue lies elsewhere besides the ROM itself. I would try re-downloading the SA-1 pack in case an update fixed whatever issue you're having, and also checking if your emulator has anything like cheats enabled that could be screwing the ROM up.

Past that, it's kinda hard to provide any suggestions unless you can figure out a repeatable method to recreate the issue.

okay, so I made sure the tools were up to date, & tested as I made any small changes. & I found out it happens when I insert one_screen.asm .. after inserting, it instantly teleports me out of yoshis house (104) & out of my vertical cave level. which is weird because uberasm runs on a per level basis right? how would it mess up other levels?

another thing I noticed but not really a problem.. I inserted one_screen.asm into a ghost house, & the intro cutscene has a screen transition into a black screen with the ghost house door (theres no issue with the level itself though, just its intro cutscene & other levels) the levels I made that contain no uberasm have no problems, which I feel is worth noting.
