How do I use guide lines?

Link Thread Closed
Bit of a rookie question here: how do I use guide lines/where can I find them in Lunar Magic?

By guide lines, do you mean the lines that platforms move on? If so, you need to have the FG/BG GFX header in #lm{gfxby} set to either one of the three Rope tilesets or the Castle 1 tileset. You'll then find the line guides under the tileset specific objects section of the add object window. In the rope tilesets, some extra ones can be found in the extended objects section, as well.

For reference, even though you need the FG/BG GFX header to be set to one of those options, you don't actually need to have the rope/castle graphics. You can still modify which GFX files are actually loaded through Super GFX bypass in #lm{sgfxby}. If you're not sure what ones to use, you can copy the values listed in the FG/BG GFX header; for example, the "normal 2" tileset has FG1 = 14, FG2 = 17, BG1 = 1B, FG3 = 15.

Okay. So i did the thing, but all I got was line-guide ends.
I think you just have to paste them into the level and connect them.

Click the character on the right side of my layout to visit my Discord server and discuss and play and look at and get updates and sneak peeks of the games and other things I'm making.

Exactly what they said. Bare in mind that unless you install a patch, they'll only work with the original tiles (76 to 99 on the rope tileset).
Also, welcome to SMWCentral!
I have a DeviantArt, if you do want to see my art on there. I don't really visit it much now, though.
If you still do not know until this day all you have to do is go here /images/emoticons/lm/exgfx.png change FG3 to 16 then go to the purple poison mush and change the first option to rope 3 you dont have to change the second option.
This question was already answered by Thomas 4 years ago and Cheeyev added on to it with a link to the patch that makes line guides usable with different map16 tiles.
Id advise to check posts dates before posting and try to avoid answering questions where the OP hasn't been active for 4 years.

On another note I think you tried to link a file from your PC which doesn't actually work.
