Overall feel/polish to the hack...

As some people have stated in the music thread, most SMW hacks (with a few exceptions) feel as if the music was just thrown together without any plan.

To add to that, in many SMW hacks, I find that the graphics, ASM gimmicks, custom sprites/bosses if they exist, and other major aspects often feel that way as well-- style clashes all over the place, resulting in a general feel that signifies to me that it's clearly a fan game.

I think SMWCP2 can be designed to be as well-polished as if it were an officially released Mario game.

Yes, it will have a variety of level designers etc., but isn't that true of most games? If anything, well-designed games created mainly by one person (as much as I admire them) are extremely rare. But there are plenty of "official" games, made by a team of people, that don't feel like everything was mixed together.

Anyway, from reading other threads, I noticed people's opinions sort of trending in this direction, so I decided to make a thread about it... Any comments?

There isn't a doubt in my mind that we could make something truly memorable and polished as long as the people contributing are ready and willing to put aside any selfish thoughts of making the most unique/awesome level/boss ever and realize that their contribution is a part of a whole rather than a claim to 15 minutes of SMW-hacking fame.
SNN has already stated that we will be more thorough this time.

All levels will be tested to death until they are fun to play =P

Constant music isn't actually so important. It is barely(if at all) noticeable(unless someone really takes off XD)

exGFX will probably be the main problem =/
