Supporting Characters

I was working on a supporting character for this hack, when I realized, there is no real thread to post him, so I made one. Please post a picture and small description with any characters you create. Please, do not just post pictures of characters from other games.

I had an idea of a mysterious character for the Carnival world, he helps you with riddles and magic. I call him, "The Magician" (name pending).

(I know, the collar sucks, meh)

This guy will mysteriously show up in a level and guide you though it with riddles or use magic to make a door or something appear when you give him a certain item. He will also appear in the carnival shop to give hints on how to find secret exits, of course, in riddles.

Note: The band around his hat is red, and the gloves are white, even if they look grey in the image.
i think a block with a face would be good for a supporting character.

his back story:
he's been supporting mario since 1985, always being beneath him, but sometimes not. that's where invi-block mario's true arch-nemesis comes in! invsi-block that evil man-block.

I think this thread is kind of pointless....

We already have all of the 'supporting characters' we need and adding any more will likely just make the hack very overcomplicated...
No, no, no; we clearly need to stuff this hack with so many supporting characters that they're physically bursting out of the ROM, the more minor ones indeed being located entirely outside, clinging to the limbs of the slightly more significant ones, and the slightest breeze sends half a dozen of them hurtling, screaming, into the abyss.

To wit: Norveg should have two friends named Dan-Mark and Sverry. Though the three get along fairly well today, they've had a few conflicts in the past. Their current, mutually beneficially union was preceded in the distant past a much more stained alliance, followed by a couple of far more one-sided connections of two of the three parties. But they've largely put their differences behind them.

Dan-Mark is a rather insular sort (in the most literal sense possible), and can seem a bit flat, but a closer look reveals him to have a surprising amount of diversity and hidden beauty. He used to be a great deal larger and more powerful than his two companions, but he lost a great deal of weight and political influence over the past few hundred years. Norveg and Sverry often accuse his speech of being difficult to understand, and while he does admittedly have a certain tendency to mumble at time, there's really nothing more intrinsically illogical about his curious way of pronouncing words than there is in Norveg and Sverry's own idiosyncratic styles of pronunciation; the difference is rather more of kind than of degree.

Sverry, on the other hand, cuts a much more rugged and immediately impressive figure. He's the tallest of the three, and tends to be the first to come to mind when people think of the trio (in a modern-day perspective, at least, his rise more or less coinciding with Dan-Mark's comparative decline), no doubt assisted by his successful and very prominent international furniture store chain, among other things. This has, admittedly, given him a bit of an ego; despite his strong feeling of shared history with Dan-Mark and Sverry, he nevertheless tends to harbor a certain feeling of superiority over his two friends. This can be seen is his curious writing style, something which he seems to have adopted solely for the sake of being different from the other two (it didn't really work, though, as the characteristic qualities of Norveg and Dan-Mark's writing, especially the o-variants, have so firmly engraved themselves into the public consciousness that they tend to extend them to Sverry as well).

We won't even get started on the curious cases that are Mr. Easeland and Pharaoh Erna.
I like the fact that the whole text is a reference to Scandinavia. :P

Norveg = Norway
Sverry = Sweden
Dan-Mark = Denmark

If that wasn't obvious.
I actually like the idea, though it would fit more as a backstory of some kind. How we would go on implementing THAT, I have no idea.
