I just read this, and I wanted to join. I want to design something good even if I don't win. I usually get close to last place, and I always try my best.
Also, I assume EXGFX and custom enemies are allowed, but I don't know how to make them appear in the right graphics using Sprite Tool by Romi v1.40. I mean, like in Lunar Magic, I just see an X, but when I play it in the game, the enemies aren't the right color sometimes as they are in original game, but I can't help it.
Also, are the going to be really strict?
For example, you say:
3. Stick on one graphics choice!
Does that assume we can only use one room for our level? For example, if I wanted to design a Super Mario World castle and then another room w/ a Super Mario World 2 castle or two from the same game, is that all right as long as they are both the same theme like a castle or whatever?
Also, if a person uses ASM and things like custom music, will they have a better chance of winning than someone who doesn't know any or will only the level design be judged? Just curious b/c I know how to use custom music, but I don't know how to write it.
