I just read this, and I wanted to join. I want to design something good even if I don't win. I usually get close to last place, and I always try my best.
Also, I assume EXGFX and custom enemies are allowed, but I don't know how to make them appear in the right graphics using Sprite Tool by Romi v1.40. I mean, like in Lunar Magic, I just see an X, but when I play it in the game, the enemies aren't the right color sometimes as they are in original game, but I can't help it.
Also, are the going to be really strict?
For example, you say:
3. Stick on one graphics choice!

Does that assume we can only use one room for our level? For example, if I wanted to design a Super Mario World castle and then another room w/ a Super Mario World 2 castle or two from the same game, is that all right as long as they are both the same theme like a castle or whatever?

Also, if a person uses ASM and things like custom music, will they have a better chance of winning than someone who doesn't know any or will only the level design be judged? Just curious b/c I know how to use custom music, but I don't know how to write it.

We aren't juding ASM, custom sprites and things like that. Also, stick on one graphics choice means, don't use this graphic, then this graphic. See the diffrence? The first one is very detailed, while the second one is cartoonish. Also, for your question, yes, you can use SMW and Yoshi's Island graphics, as both of them are cartoonish styled.
For custom sprites, check a tutorial. If you have more questions regarding CS, you can ask in the General SMW hacking Help, or just send me a PM.
Is it January 31 at midnight(12:00 A.M.) or 11:59 P.M.? Oh, and what time zone is it? Just wondering. I live in Iowa so that is the Central Time Zone. I might try to design something.

Considering that today is 28th, and the deadline is at 31st January, then you can. Also, there isn't a counter or something, I will dowload and moderate every entry when I first sit on my computer when the deadline comes.
How do you want us to submit them? My completed entry is sitting in my "files" page. I'm looking forward to the feedback from the judges!

Great. I will moderate it as soon as I can.

Also, yay for the new toolbar!
Are you going to have the judges write comments about our levels? Just wondering, and if you have time, you should make a video showing part of everyone's level.
Sometimes, true contests are just a "Make something amazing". And learning Actionscript is somewhat cool and all~! So, uhm...

I'll join!

Im joining!

Ya, and one question, can it be vanilla?
My channel

I'm back everyone.

What is going on with this contest? The original deadline was a month ago, the revised one was two weeks ago, and there's no sign that anything is being done here. I'm leaning towards closing it because it looks like it's completely inactive, but feel free to convince me otherwise.

Yes, it's over. Close it and move it to the Old Contests and Events forum. Boy, some people don't even look at the deadline.
P.S.: I even forgot about that.
