Hi guys, I'm making a new kaizo:light romhack
First of all, here's some screenshots:

Hope's Wind is a breath of fresh air for me. I made/played kaizo:hard hacks for years so I delevoped a kaizo:hard mindset. Last year I made my first kaizo:light (Exodius), it was a challenge for me and the result is pretty good. However it has some flows: I was used to make some complex setups and complex tricks which (I learned) are bad in terms of fun and playability of a kaizo:light hack. That said, that's where Hope's Wind was born: it's based on the idea of making something enjoyable, pretty simple and not frustrating.
The hack features:
SA-1
Instant Retry
LX5's custom powerups
Custom Sprites
Custom asm
No kaizo blocks
No shells (So no shelljumps!)

I think I'll make a small trailer soon
(I hope)


Hope's Wind is 70%-ish done but it needs a lot more playtesting. I also need some playtester which I can speak directly on discord.
Special thanks to anyone who answered my questions on the forum and on discord.

I definitely see how it is to create a kaizo hack intended to be easier than other projects of yours with the same mentality you sticked with. I'm honestly not sure what's happening in some of the levels, but they all look great.
If you are still hiring playtesters I'm up to the task, just hmu on Discord

No shells / shelljumps is definitely an idea i approve. I think you are creative enough to come up with many other interesting obstacles. At least the screenshots look quite promising so far, so keep up the work nd i'm curious to see how this turns out eventually #smw{:TUP:}

Hey, this one looks great!
I can't really tell much of what's going on through just the screenshots, especially with all the custom sprites and blocks since i don't know what they do, but i can see some nice setups in a few of them.
One thing that really caught my attention is the fact you're using LX5's Power-ups! That's something i haven't seen in a kaizo before, so i look forward to what you have to show with those!

Also, definitely approve the no shelljumps idea! With so many kaizos relying heavily on shelljumps as common obstacles, i think this will be a breath of fresh air!
