wow guys the reception to this has been great! thank you all.

as a treat and to say thanks for all the brilliant feedback, i created a special original snes box art too. hope you enjoy!

I must have underestimated you, goose. This has surprised even me.

This very well might just win C3! And I am serious, for I am a magician!
If we were in the epoch of much stricter rules regarding cutoffs and other nitpicks, this would, for sure, get rejected.

Anyway, I just made it to clearing 100% of the game. I'm really surprised to see that after we beat the Special World we get new map colors and enemy skins! This is a neat touch! On the other hand, several levels are ridiculously insane. Tubular instantly comes to mind, but Outrageous is also kinda unfair.

Damn are you gonna release this hack's soundtrack in the music section? I need that song that plays in Yoshi's Island 3!! (is it an original composition btw?) I'm disappointed you only used a handful of songs for the vast number of levels there are, but I have to give credit to you for making custom P-switch/star songs as well. I'm also surprised you had the patience to make all these sound effects considering how fickle AMK is with them.

How'd you get those switch palace thingies to work? Sounds like it was probably a lot of pain to do especially since it saves their pressed state once you turn off the game. Please release them too!

The graphics are cute but I think they could use some work. A decent amount of them are pillow-shaded which is a big no, and some of them feel inconsistent with each other. You have a lot of space in the sprite palette rows so I'm surprised you didn't give more depth to some of the sprite graphics (like the Bob-Ombs). Don't be shy to ask for help in #graphics on the Discord.

Overall, this is a really cute hack despite its shortcomings, nice job!
Bravo mate. Bravo.

@Blind Devil - glad you managed to find the secret event that happens once you complete the hack. It's certainly tough to find!

@bebn legg - all music is original. I had to limit the songs as I was running out of space in the ROM. With the gfx, how dare you ask me to ask for help on Discord!? I'll have you know young man, I used to run that section back in the day so pls kindly go away.

@Final Theory - Bravo [gif].
Well that was quick, I just got my cart and manual that I ordered in the mail today. Thanks Tahixham.

Great job with the manual and I'm glad to see that you released it in both NTSC and PAL formats!
I didn't really like some of the level design, but this was OK overall. Good job.

Wait, this is... And I'm...
(I decided it was best not to mention you-know-what)

Hack progress:
World 1: Complete!
World 2: Working on it. "Working on it" = about 1/2 a level per month
World 3: Not done.
World 4: Not done.
World 5: Not done.
World 6: Not done.

I just wanted to congratulate Tahixham for selling over 20 million copies of his game Super Mario World. This truly is an amazing feat.

im dying of hyperbole
Very good! The new character "Yoshi" is my favorite part! The creativity is insurmountable!

I can't beleive I never thought of doing this.
This is the original Super Mario World. Nothing was changed. Why is this in C3 anyway? Please take this down.

Space for rent.
Correct. This is the original Super Mario World, the original hack by Tahixham, released for this C3. I don't see why submitting an original work constitutes a takedown.

This game has been in development for thirty years. To be frank, I find it rather disrespectful to say that such a long-awaited game needs to be taken down. Shame.

Idk why people argue about things you can easily look up

Really good stuff, keep it up!
Even though the game has been released in 2020, you still managed to keep a strong 1990's vibe with the entirety of the project. Very cool that you were able to achieve that. You captured that time period in a way that feels very authentic.

Kind of like Shovel Knight, it was modern game, but done in the aesthetics of yester year. Again, well done Taxixham!
