This is my second and final thread for this C3.
The second demo of Technicolor Mario World is finally here!
In this hack every palette is limited to red and green like in old color movies from the 1910s to the 1930s. This hack has the same plot as a regular Mario game.

The demo goes up until #2 Roy's Castle (Length is 16 exits). Also, in this demo, the vanilla bosses were replaced with custom bosses and also the hack now has custom music!

It looks beutiful, very beutiful, but I am afraid I must inquire where you got those colors from. You see, with the current situation, I must inspect every individual who is in possesion of colors.
I loved the demo. The theme is what caught my eye originally (I'm a sucker for pastel colors), but I stayed for the rest. The level design is not too difficult yet challenging enough to keep me engaged (as the levels slowly increased in difficulty).

I did notice a few bugs here and there.
During
Iggy's
boss fight, sometimes he stops spawning balls, forcing a restart from the checkpoint.
I'm not sure whether this is because of a timer issue (<100 seconds) or because I failed to defeat him quickly.

Also, for some reason, when playing 2-1 for the first time, the
Hill Top
theme played in 2x speed.

One more thing: in 2-4's bonus room, if the player fails to carry the P-switch with them, they can get softlocked by entering the door.

Other than that, I enjoyed playing through TMW, and I would love to see this finished. #smrpg{y}

First, he's Larry Lemmy, not Iggy. I think this seems to be a bug with the sprite. All of the sprites were inserted and specified in the .asm file before inserting it, including Wendy's projectiles, if I end up using her. I've added a reset door there anyways.

Because the victory fanfare didn't have #option TempoImmunity at the top of the .txt file. I keep forgetting this when using custom goal themes.

The door was set to exit to the wrong level. That bonus room is in level 2F, but the door was set to exit to level 2E (and I forgot to add a P-switch there).

I'm DEFINITELY going to finish this hack!

Also right after the midway point in Night Mountain 3, with the 3 brick lined horizontally the middle brick now has a coin to prevent a forced death.

And I added palm trees to the end of demo level, because I forgot to add them before releasing it:

They're from Gamma V's Classic Beach 2 tileset.

And also made new reset indicators (as a result, the message box from this room was removed):

I would make the arrows flash, but the animation causes glitching so they don't flash.

And lastly, I've released an update and submitted it to the hacks section. The update fixes the above mentioned bugs. I've also updated the link in the first post.

Perhaps the design isn't outstanding, but it certainly is fun to play this hack and that's what counts I'd say. Plus, what really stand out are the palettes. Personally i think it's a sweet idea to give a hack such a retro feeling. Perhaps i'm just an old geezer lost in nostalgia, but personally i really enjoyed this (even if i haven't played 100% of it yet).
Good job as always Green Jerry! #smw{:TUP:}
