I am working on a software project I have wanted to do for years now. I was initially going to go into tons of details in this thread, but I figured maybe it'll be more fun to like reveal a more finished project later than now. Like at C3 (missed the chance last time)
I will mention some basics, like it having a forum system, wiki system, custom page system, and possibly others without going into details that could spoil what its potential is.
So essentially, I am looking for someone to work with. I'd do all the code work and some CSS work but majority of design and CSS would fall on a partner to make a very nice and modern look (possibly one scheme with dragons, lol). This would become a free and open software available to everyone at some point when I release it but it'll take 2-3 months to finalize some things. Not entirely sure who's even available for such an undertaking but I have an ambitious plan to put in place and wonder who's interested in joining along. I might grab an additional coder if one's interested, although I will say that the code has to follow the convention I set. I could even teach someone who's wanting to learn a thing or two. All I ask is you pass the gift on!
One sort of spoilery thing I can mention is the system is flexible and might even allow the user greater control over what they personally see over the scheme system we have here. Like some kind of "site builder" mode where you drag&drop in templates, and piece together where you want things. Like the online users list. I have other experimental ideas which could be ambitious in nature.
So far 1/3 of the core system is done and made (with just a week or so of work). Since it is all OOP and using very dynamic code, it is very easy to write content for pages. Just the matter of throwing that content somewhere and making the design look more modern and fresh, and not from a programmer.
If anyone is interested, you can say so in a reply or in a PM. Anyone I do choose to work with would be not only included in the credits of the system but also other benefits I'll mention at a later date.
I ask that if you do apply that you can show off a little example of what you could do with say, a main page.
My goal is to get the basic/core version up and running in 2-3 months. Sort of challenging myself again like I did over half a decade ago. I could do the site design of CSS/HTML too but it'd not look all that great.
Thanks for reading! I might answer a question or two here but prefer to keep details about the project minimal until C3.
