I'm slowly getting back into one of my all-time favorite animated series, aka Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As someone who was born in the 80's, I have always preferred the 80's version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles over its successors. These days I've been watching some of the episodes I cannot recall ever watching, mainly episodes from seasons 6 through 10 (season 8 is where the red sky episodes began; those episodes were a little bit darker and more serious than the episodes from the first 7 seasons, plus season 9 was where Lord Dregg was introduced). It may take me a while, but I hope to eventually watch every single episode of this animated classic (especially since I have the complete series on DVD). Plus, for anyone here who is also a fan of the 80's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series, the 4 main actors (Cam Clarke, Barry Gordon, Rob Paulsen, and Townsend Coleman) still get together occasionally.

I have been watching a series called The Umbrella Academy, I didn't expect to like it, but I did enjoy the few episodes I watched.
It's intriguing and the cinematography is quite nice.
I finished watching both seasons, it was amazing.
The whole series is well constructed, it's incredible how they keep building up mysteries and plot threads without making it convoluted.
Looking forward to the third season.
-------------------- Dawn upon me, morning sun... I anxiously tarry for thee, come to vanquish this horrible era of my life.
Things I am excited for:
Apparently there is nothing announced anywhere that really interests me.
Things I probably should do:
Update my profile to coincide with the new changes.
I too have been watching Umbrella Academy, though I'm still in the first season. I can't say I like any of the characters (maybe I just need to give them some time to grow on me), but the story itself is very interesting, and I'm definitely enjoying it.
Welp, currently working on checking off some of the anime I wanted to watch from my list atm, having finished two of them already (Senko-san and Gabriel Dropout), and am currently working on finishing one more rn (Date a Live), and honestly, except for the former one (since it was nice and comfy enough I guess), I've not really enjoyed most of them sadly; third one especially is really pissing me off too since the plot really feels like it's all over the place, which isn't a good sign, but the girls are cute enough to keep me going I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Have a few more I'd need to check off the list at one point too, mainly Code Geass and a few more anime that I need to go back to watch (K-ON and Hibike Euphonium), but otherwise not much outside of that :V
I watched K - On a long time ago, from I remember it was one of the better slice of life out there. Baka and Test has to be one of my favorite of all time though, I'd check it out if you have a free second.
Well, the name sounds familiar enough, so maybe I might
Tbh, I don't like slice of life shit all that much, tho personally I still wouldn't be entirely opposed to one that's either fairly comfy or one that has a few more things going for it so it's not too terribly boring (Haruhi Suzumiya being a good example, tho I know not every slice of life is like that one lmao); on that note, I also wanted to see if either Lucky Star or Nichijou is all that good, tho honestly I know some people have said that the former is pretty boring (dunno about the latter tho), so it might not be all that good to go for those two, but who knows :V
I haven't watched Lucky Star in five years so I may be misremembering, but only the first episode was really boring. I liked Nichijou too, but its shtick is randomness and that may not be appealing!
Slowly going through Getter Robo G. Definitely an improvement over the original (i.e. it's less repetitive and shorter which I like because I don't like long anything.) The new ending is pretty good but I think I like the ending song from the original more. Same epic opening though. Not a huge fan of the Getter redesigns but I don't hate them.
Kind of want to watch Mazinger Z after I eventually watch Getter Robo Armageddon but it's like 90 episodes
Welp, finished the 3rd season of Date a Live rn, and honestly... I don't know if I still like it all that much; suppose I just have a love-hate relationship with it now, but yeah, probably not going to bother with it at all until there's a 4th season or something, otherwise I'm just going to call it done and never bother with it again :V
Also @ mecha anime thing, honestly I always wanted to watch one at some point but really don't know where to start lmao; maybe I should watch one of the Gundams or something, but other than that I don't have much else in mind rn
It was easy for me to decide because I was playing Super Robot Wars 2/3 and was like "Hmm, Getter Robo is cool" then I played SRW A which is packed full of Getter characters so I decided "That's it! I'm watching Getter Robo!"
The annoying thing about Getter Robo the original is past episode 33 you have to use "English" subtitles that are obviously not written by an English speaker. And it changes most of the names for no discernable reason. Unless one can understand spoken Japanese of course.
