real talk i kinda feel like mainline pokémon has always been filler like even more so than wild arms and neptunia (saying this as a wild arms fan btw)
it's mostly just there to catch monsters and feel good and that's okay i guess. the spinoffs have the more substantial games.

pokemon has never really been bad it's just that a lot of its older fanbase have sorta grown out of it plus the pokémon company's strict schedules for utmost relevance demand corners getting cut which is honestly further proof that capitalism is killing art

i will say that cutting off pokemon just to add them in bit by bit is really dumb now that it's true that they could just add them with extra time (i wouldn't be Mad Online about it tho i am 23) but like that's mostly on the pokémon company's head, they are basically the ones trapping game freak in a sort of "shit out pkmn games every year" sort of schedule

corporations aren't your friend yeah, but i dunno i just feel like tpc is the bigger culprit as they're the owners of the pokémon ip and so have a say on how and when pokemon games should be made and released iirc

but yeah that's just me 'sperging* over rpgs and cute animals
