idk - i even thought when deciding on that location "ooh, could be a little too hard and deep in the forums", but apparently not! it was even intended to be the hardest (hence the rainbow colour), but statistically it wasn't because mosts 2017 was.

I think the explanation is pretty simple: checking for stickied threads, even buried deep in the forums, is doable, but checking for old contests would drive almost everybody insane given the amount of them, especially considering you usually have multiple stickied threads for them and some of them have their own subforum. So most people assumed there weren't any eggs there.

I don't think the SMWCP2 egg was actually too difficult. It was in a stickied thread, after all, like almost all of the other eggs. THe only reason I didn't find it at first was because it was a subforum within a subforum, and those are easy to overlook because they don't appear in the general forum preview. Once I saw that subforum, just checking the stickied threads there was the obvious thing to do.

The Mosts 2017, on the other hand, was pretty difficult, because it really didn't seem to have any pattern to it.

This. Initially I had just missed the rainbow egg exactly for that reason but it made total sense. The other egg on the other hand took me way more effort to find since it had next to no logic to its location; that one definitely deserved to be the rainbow one imo.

And yass golden egg #smrpg{y}

Yeah I didn't think the SMWCP2 egg was very hard to find either. After I checked every stickied thread on the site, I then got the idea to try checking every thread on the front page of every forum, but after doing that for a couple of hours I had to ask myself "what the hell am I doing with my life?" and gave up loooong before I made it to the Old Contests & Events forum.

Tbh, I checked both SMWCP2 threads pretty extensively (and even most of the SMWCP and 1.5 threads as well), but I also didn't exactly expect to check the Signups thread for it either (in fact, I completely missed it while searching on those threads and didn't even think it existed lmao)

in general, I'm kind of sad that I didn't really try to find anymore of these eggs, especially since the locations didn't at all seem like they would be hard to find, but I was (read: still is) busy doing Other Things alongside this little game, so uh. yeah.

Found all them with 23 hours to spare! I found some of the easy ones no problem, but I had to resort to using a very efficient method of checking all the threads I could to find the ones I've missed. I just kept middle-clicking everything and peeked at the threads themselves to find the remaining ones. Got all 15 of them this way. #smrpg{gasp}

I only found ten but at least I got the SMWCP2 signups egg. This was fun! Hopefully we can do it again next year.

Tip:
So what was my super duper awesome strategy for finding them all (and being the 2nd person to find them all [could have been first if I tried, but settling for obtaining them within 12 hours is good enough for me - didn't honestly expect to find them all])?

It is simple when you think of it. First things first. Knowing the limits of where it can be. This...to a point, was true. Although he did ask Eevee to edit one of the posts. However, some early signs told me to ignore the Forum Archives. Admittedly, this could have been a location given that above information, but minus the one instance, the pattern told me to stick to the upper forums.

Now they were all stickies, minus a few areas, but if it was thread to look for with the egg that's where they were. I thought to look in the News because again, it was something editable for us staff. And it doesn't take long to get into 2017 news either so I figured 5-10 pages deep should be good enough initially and to cover it again if I required more.

So you wanna know a good tip? Go top to bottom in all forums (public ones anyways, lol). Once you finish a category, close it! This will tell your mind that category has been cleared and remember to not check it again, wasting time and effort.

Once you checked almost all the way down to General forums, you should have had all the regular thread eggs. Which would have left you with News and site pages

Really hoping to do this next year! ^.=.^

This event sure did have everyone scrambling all over the site! Some of the egg locations really were obscure, like the Mosts 2017 results, and especially the one in the SMWCP2 forum. Despite this, knowing where all the eggs were now at least makes finding them all seem feasible. I'm still happy with the 11 eggs I uncovered, though. Maybe I can make an omelette out of them.

Congrats to the users who hunted down all 15 eggs, and thanks to Tahixham for hosting this egg-statically fun easter egg hunt! #smrpg{mlem}
What is a Lunar Magic, and can I eat it?
Aww damn it, I missed some eggs in some of the catagories I already checked! I could have sworn I didn't see them...

Oh well, at least I found the rarest egg, the Rainbow Egg, in the SMWCP2 forums. Being a SMWCP2 Project Manager made me think there was something in there.
Unfortunately, I'm not very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now. Thanks for understanding.
Eyy, my first trophy! :D

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit to what extent I clicked around in the forums. At first venturing beyond stickied threads, and then later deciding to poke around in the Forum Graveyard and its many, many subforums before checking all of the regular categories. Though to be fair, I'd probably have checked all of the forum categories anyway, since the previous egg hunt thread and the News posts were the last few I found. I remember also checking all the resource categories and several specific resource pages - including Golden Egg which I thought would've been an obvious spot lmao.

It was really fun finding them and seeing parts of the site I otherwise probably wouldn't have ever looked at, and a bunch of community stuff from when I was inactive. It kinda makes me feel more involved again, in a way.

Extras

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

I could've swore I looked in all of these threads, but it was late so I might be mis-remembering.

Not entirely sure why I didn't look even deeper into the SMWCP2 forum, though what RPG Hacker said makes sense...

I found this one, you crafty bastard. ;)

And, no, I didn't hide any in anyone's profiles, avatars etc. Didn't want to make it too hard, hey?

I was kinda expecting to find one on some profiles, tbh. Specifically more notable folks or the ones with yoshi or egg in their name. No I totally didn't check out WYE's profile page a couple of times to make sure I didn't overlook anything! Not me!

Overall I thought this egg hunt was pretty cool to see again. I hope to see something like this again. o/

Well, 10 eggs. Not bad for my first egg hunt, and i don't really think i would've made it any better if i tried. I was out of ideas of where to search anyways.

Congrats to the people who found all 15!

Uh, pages 5 and 9... I only really checked the first and last pages, as those are the most obvious. I didn't think they would be buried in the other pages

Uh, i swear i went through this one. I searched for every single subforum in the site, and looked at all the stickied threads (Even in the obscure forums in the Forum Graveyard). I don't know how i missed this one... I remember going through the "SMWCP2 Archive" forum at least, maybe i missed the Signups one...?

Wow, non-stickied threads. You mad lad!
I even went through a few non-stickied threads in the Old Contests and Events forum, but only for 2019 events (including the Mosts 2019). I didn't care to check for other years.

I totally didn't do that too xD
My Youtube Channel
I could not find a single egg.
The SMWCP2 egg was the last one that I found, ane the one that took longer for me to find it after I found the other 14 eggs.

Also, when I was refreshing the rules page before its egg disappeared, a </div> appeared besides the egg:

yeah that was me, whoops. i forgot some of the egg html when deleting that one. you must have caught it literally in the 5 second period where it was ther before i fixed it #tb{D:}
I had thought they could've been in SMW Hacks or SMW Music, so I looked there.

I also believed I couldn't ask that question. not my fault #tb{¬_¬} and is there a next time?
