Which games do you like that everyone else hates?

I wouldn't say I hate this game but not really fond of animal crossing I feel like I would get bored of it after awhile.

I don't think that most Sonic games are deserving of their intense vitriol. At the very least the games can be interesting despite their myriad flaws. Sonic 06 absolutely deserves the hate it gets and Sonic Chronicles deserves way more hate than it does get, but something like Lost World, Labyrinth, or Forces comes off to me as just "generic mediocre kid's game" material. The hate these particular games get feels like it comes more from an exhausted older fanbase and a dislike for their mere ideas than for their actual bad designs.
- Not exactly an outright hated game, but BioShock Infinite is still personally my favorite BioShock game, if mainly for the story and experience of the whole thing.

- I don't actively play them necessarily, but I still follow certain MMOs like MapleStory / EverQuest / et cetera that are now considered "shit" because of how damn incredible their soundtracks and atmospheres are.

- Paper Mario Sticker Star is a game that I genuinely found to be loads and loads of fun. Seriously. I think the "disposable stickers" mechanic is leaps and bounds better than the annoying BP/SP/EXP/ABDCLMNOP mechanics of the first two Paper Mario games. (The game as a whole with its worlds/story/characters is still a lot less interesting than the first two though)

- Zero Time Dilemma was just as good as the first two Zero Escape games in my eyes, I completely disagree with the people who argue that the writing took a nosedive here.

There aren't really any games, but console wise it would be the Wii U. I just like it because a long time ago my dad traded in the Wii for a Wii U. While I think the Wii is still better a Wii U can still be modded with homebrew and has VC games. It also can play Wii games with a virtual Wii menu, similar to how the Wii could play gamecube titles. I'd prefer a Wii though and may buy one because of it's cheap price nowadays.

RuneScape. I really enjoy this game a lot, I grew up with it as a kid, but everyone I talk to always seem to prefer OSRS. I personally don't see the appeal in downgrading your game just because of "muh mtx-free mmo" or other excuses like those. I mean, dude: It's an MMO game. They gotta make money to stay alive somehow.
Just so you know, I'm very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now.
When i saw this post my eyes lit up. I talk about frickin Wii Music any time someone mentions this topic. Back before i was a world-wide-web-surfing cool kid, i played this game to death, and i didn't even know that people hated it.

Then y'know i went to youtube and stuff and the past couple years saw a lotta reviews about Wii Music and they were all like "wow this is crap". And i was genuinely surprised.

My copy of the game broke a few years ago, and in 2019 or so i got a new copy and i was really glad i did. And i played that for some time. But now my Wii U has one leg in the grave so i can't play it anyway. #ab{:P} And even if it did, my family members do not like the cacophony.
Easily Final Fantasy II. Even though everybody tells you to do this, don't beat up your party members just to increase HP because really it makes life more difficult for yourself. (I believe this is where the game's stigma comes from since everybody makes it such a popular strategy despite it being a horrible idea)
Just play the game normally without any weird exploits, don't be afraid of exiting a dungeon if things get bad for you (Like every JRPG ever), grind a little bit at the beginning of the game and you'll be pretty much fine through the whole adventure. The remakes are a little easier of course, but the NES game is just as playable.

Bonus note, Sonic Adventure 1, 2, and Heroes are also all perfectly fine games and I don't really understand why they deserve so much flak. Some parts of Heroes are a little janky of course (Bingo Highway is the only truly bad level in my opinion), but other than that I don't see any massive game-breaking problems with them.

I too love Sonic Adventure 2 and Heroes. But SA2's camera can drive me crazy sometimes.
You know, speaking of Sonic games, I like a lot of games people don't really like: Sonic R, Sonic the Fighters, the Game Gear games (mostly due to nostalgia, but with the exception of Sonic Blast I think they all have their own interesting stuff even with all the flaws, Tails Adventures, Sonic 1 8-bit and Sonic Triple Trouble being legitimately great). I also like the Advance games, even though they also have a lot of flaws and visibility issues or just weird level design sometimes.

The least divisive one I like is probably Sonic CD, but even that one isn't most people's favorite game, but I can enjoy it.

Sonic R is pretty devoid of content but I think that collecting everything is a fun enough way to spend an hour. Sonic the Fighters has some balance flaws but for a casual like me, it's good fun.
geometry dash, it's not necessarily hated, but many people will just think it's a "dead kids game". no, it's not dead at all. there's much more about that game than you think. the game ranges from easy to harder than dark souls. there are many awesome level creators (eg. serponge, funnygame, rafer, etc.). it's even the game where https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs1kVySdUtI&t=94s originated from./\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Man I haven't heard about Geometry Dash in years! It was pretty danm hard... About the part where it's harder than dark souls? Anything and Everything is harder than dark souls. Even Kirby's Dreamland is harder than dark souls! But the part about Geometry Dash being a dead children's game? Where did you hear that? I've never heard about that before...

there are a ton of people who played years ago and thought "this game is ded weeeeeh" because updates take an eternity (2.2 when rob?)

there are also a ton of people who played a really early version of the game/any of the side games (including lite) and thought "man, this is a kids game cuz reasons"

fun fact: sweetdude used to play geometry dash. his levels were... let's say... very messy to the point of ugliness (except for the syobon action remakes)/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis Version) comes to mind. I honestly didn't mind having to find all the flickies in all the stages. I'll admit, I don't like the fact that the flickies themselves can get hit.

Honestly the Enemies/Badniks in the game are pretty lame. I mean they have nice wacky designs that differ from your normal Chibi/Simpson eyes designs from the previous games. But they seem even MORE basic than the enemies in Mario! There honestly comparable to the ones in SMB1 but the thing is that SMB1 is that it's much more enjoyable. But I do love a bit of the soundtrack though! What comes to mind is Spring Stadium Act 1 and the Boss Themes, I really like those.

It is a wrestling game made for NES that has very low ratings on graphics, sound and gameplay.

I played it several times when I was a little child and I found it funny even though I didn't beat the second level. I used to jump to the ropes to bounce and hit the opponent. However, if he got the energy ball, I would definitely lose the game.

I didn't know what its name was until some months ago. The version that I used to play had a japanese name that I wasn't able to read, but it meant "Kinnikuman". Later, I found the same version with a different name: "Wrestle". It was written with small red letters, white highlight and the font that most NES games use, so it was pretty mediocre.

Recently, I played it again and I reached level 5.
