The story is one day Princess Daisy was on her way to Princess Peach's castle for a picnic when she had arrived they had went to go get Mario & Luigi to have them join them when they arrived to the bros house they had left a note saying they were on vacation after the last battle with Bowser, Peach & Daisy headed back to the castle to have the picnic for themselves when they arrived back they had ran into Rosalina who looks worried to inform Peach & Daisy that her home planet has been taken over by a mysterious foe as well as Kidnapping Mario & Luigi along the way, surprised and angered by this news Peach & Daisy had decided to set out a journey to help Rosalina take back her kingdom and rescue Mario & Luigi from this mystery foe.

Starting with world 8, eh? I assume you're building your hack in whatever order of ideas that come to mind in that case, or this is closer to being done than you're letting on.

I love the land graphics used in the submap and I think your palette choices are soft on the eyes, but I can't get past the clouds. They're too bulky and uniform and lack any sort of features like wisps or puffy hills, but I'm just one opinion. I do think the map would benefit from a sky gradient or some other sky detail, such as a simplified downscale of the world below or thick cloud covering while brighter, more distinguished cloud cover makes the "ground" of your map. There should be a lot of space available in your ExGFX slots for the submap to merge images and give the appearance of richer layering, and you could even steal some pieces from SMW's cloud/forest combination foreground tileset for diversity in cloud fringe angles. I am assuming in that sky space you plan on putting in some big vines between clouds when levels are passed.

You have good taste in level ExGFX too with PercentN's self-made sky tileset. There is a palette issue with the status bar hearts in this level: the red and green doesn't look good and the way you have it in your sample video on your YouTube page is more appealing. I'm also wondering why Peach has a dark outline, but Daisy doesn't. Is Daisy not important enough to be bolded like all the other sprites? D:

I also would like to request some context for the screenshots here: Is one princess a 2-player co-op sprite or is she an NPC that follows the other, and what's in that mushroom house?

Yeah the sky world was the first thing to come in mind so did a preview and level first as a whole and the later sky map there will be vines and added changes later on as well as the health pallete being changed.

The peach and daisy sprites look similarly but are on separate sets and peach following daisy is a feature like diddy kong following donkey kong or tails following sonic.

Interesting how Peach follows Daisy around, do this hack have some kind of coop like the donkey kong country games?
Also the map looks really nice too, I would just make the palette of the clouds in the sky submap abit more pleasing maybe.

It's a patch that creates a clone of the player and acts as a buddy system a neat new gimmick to try out in the new version of sky world too will be improved with added stuff.

Looking at the screenshots, it looks interesting so far. I really like how this hack has a buddy system, similar to Sonic 2.

A couple of questions: Can you switch between Peach and Daisy? Seeing that Rosalina is in this hack, will we get to play as her as well later on?

I'm so confused right now. I just saw a nearly identical overworld in another thread on the same page of this board - is there some "open for anybody" main map I'm unaware of? Nevertheless, it is very nice-looking with vivid colors.

Do Peach and Daisy have different abilities, and is Peach's floating ability present in this hack? Will it be necessary at any point to alternate between them to clear different obstacles?

I didn't watch much Winx Club on the Fox Box growing up and had to look up who the Trix are. These are the bad guys of your hack I take it. Are they going to be stand-alone bosses, recurring bosses, and/or do you have something in mind where they'll all together against you at the very end? (I think a group of bosses at the same time instead of the multi-phase single boss would be a cool deviation from the norm for the finale.)

The map you are referring to is a older version of the main overworld this is a newer version with added things such as building tiles for city world and darker grassland as well as ghost houses, towers, switch palaces and toad houses.

As far as the peach following daisy thing goes she will pretty much do what daisy does so is almost like a built in coop but you won't be able to play as her directly and for rosalina she will mainly appear as a npc to give advice and tips on a level also give hints to secrets.


Peach & Daisy too will have the floating abilities as a alternative replacement for the cape powerup some levels the floating may help get to secrets and the Trix are the bad guys from series they will mainly be the main bosses throughout the game they will appear in every castle with each fight changing around their tactics, they won't appear on the final world.

Wow, that is a quantum leap in quality from the earlier version. Very dream-like palette! I do like those new textures added to the grass, cliff, and clouds. You also did a good job making the new clouds in the sky appear to recede further into the background. The pillars in the clouds remind me of SMB2US 7-1 so it feels extra appropriate for a late-game world to me. Very nice.

I love that peach follows the player just like Sonic 2, 3 and DKC

I wonder if the clone patch is on the smw patches section or did you made that patch.
