midway point properties

i want to edit the midway point, specifically, i want to make mario gain a fire flower when the midway point is obtained
This hex edit alone will make Mario get a fire flower instead of becoming big under the same conditions as the original game (that is, only if he's small):

This will remove that conditional (so Mario will always get a fire flower, regardless of his current state):

Almost, but the "BNE +" should be "BEQ +". As is, the midway will give Mario a flower only if he has a cape.
